Shuttle to Port Orleans?

I need to get from the Orlando airport (MCO) to Port Orleans Riverside. I am meeting someone there. I am not officially a guest, but will crash with them one night. Is there a way I can get there from the airport? I looked up a shuttle service, but no Disney hotels were an option.

any advice would be appreciated.

Thank you
NJ Steve

Without being listed on the reservation, you cannot take DME. You could try contacting Mears and see if you can pay to take a bus to the hotel. That's what Swan and Dolphin Guests have to do.

Other options include the previously-mentioned limo or towncar, a taxi, or renting a car for a one-way trip to WDW.

There's also the Lynx public bus, and while it'd be your cheapest option, it'd also be your slowest one, as it requires one or more transfers. I also don't think it would get you all the way to Port Orleans. You'd have to take it to one of the drop-off points and then take Disney transportation.

And though you didn't mention it, you *can* be added onto your friend's room and become an official Guest of the hotel after they check in, even for only a night or two, as long as you won't go beyond the maximum occupancy of the room. It won't get you DME from the airport, but you'll get a room key and the ability to go to Extra Magic Hours, as well as the peace-of-mind that you're not "sneaking around".

Rob I will see about being added to the room. I am not looking to get anyone in trouble. They are definitely not at the maximum occupancy. Renting a car might end up being the easiest way. A towncar is twice the price of renting.

You very definitely CAN use Mears to get to a Disney resort, you just can't reserve it in advance. However, if you go to the Mears counter in MCO after you land, they will charge you $19 for a shuttle ride to any Disney resort. You might be on a van, on a bus, or even a Disney's Magical Express bus.

So, to recap, you can't reserve this inexpensive ride, but you can just walk up and get it for that price.
