Shuttle Launch viewing

NASA tenatively has a night launch scheduled for our stay the last week of November. Since my in-laws will be meeting us at WL for part of the stay and are interested in seeing the shuttle launch, where is the best place in the park to see the shuttle take off? I've talked with a co-worker who has told me don't even bother trying to see it in person (at the launch site) as it will be way too crowded. Are there any good places to see said launch?

My first thought would be off of one of the balconies in the Contemporary or at the California Grill. Are there any other places or can you see it just about anywhere with an eastern view?

Thanks

Go with the Contemporary and the higher the better. We were staying in the tower one year during a night shuttle launch. It was awesome. The whole exhaust plume, which is incredibly bright, was reflected in Bay Lake. Have fun and don't forget your video camera.

You want to know the best place to see the shuttle launch? Go to the Space Coast! It's not that far away and it will be nothing like you have ever seen. There is a big difference of being 50 miles away (at Disney), or being 5 miles away! If you're lucky too, if you figure out the right people to call and make reservations, NASA will let you go into a restricted area, 3 miles away from the launch pad with just the bay between you. Since you make reservations, it wont be that crounded, and you wanting to see a night launch is even better. When it blasts off, the sky lights up as light as day, and you could see the bosters falling perfectly. If you call up the Kennedy Space Center, I'm sure they could give you the number to call. If it fits your schedule, I would Really recomend skipping the fireworks one day, and seeing the worlds biggest firework go up into space!
