Shula's or Yachtsman.?

Ok folks...After long discussions into the wee small hours last night. It's been decided that were going to WDW in 2015 in the month of October..12 nights at PORS.Now fingers x that the free QS dining will still be available..So we decided on doing just one pre booked ADR at the 180 day countdown..And it's got to be a steak,as my DS loves them,as I do,and my DW..Ive got it down to 2.. So for you folk who have been to either or both.Where would you choose for that steak night.?;)

Shula's does not participate in the DDP where the Yachtsman dose (2 credits). Maybe that will make your decision more easy. If your decision does not rest on the DDP, they both offer great food. I have been to both many times. For the money I feel that Shula's offers the better value. Portions are very generous. Yachtsman has nicer atmosphere overlooking storm along bay. Shula's atmosphere is also nice, but in my opinion more formal. As for which restaurant I would pick. I am going in September, staying at the Beach Club and eating at Shula's. Hope that helps.

Cheers..The quest has started with a savings plan..Anyway,I'am not a massive steak person,and my DW is the same,but my DS could eat steak 24/7..In fact in 2011 he had 10 steak dinners in a 14 night vacation on Cyprus..

Thanks for that..Yeh we will be paying cash as we will be staying at a moderate and hoping or free QS ..Ive read that Shula's dress code is more formal than YS..Cheers!;)

Both are very good and you would get a great meal at either. Shula’s is more expensive and not on the dinning plan, however the portions are large and IMHO have better steaks. .Shula’s is also a “guy” place, formal and very manly in décor. Yachtsman is less masculine. My DW prefers Yachtsman and my DS prefers Shula’s I can get a good salad, lobster bisque, NY strip and creamed spinach at either so we usually do both. I would recommend comparing menus either here or at allearsnet.com and to look at the slide shows for the resorts they might pictures of each for comparison as well.

Cheers @littleroo..It's a start..Won't be able to book my flights until next year,likewise with WDW.This will be the first time doing separate bookings as we always just book the entire package thro our travel agent..

I'll be the lone dissenter in the goup..our preference is Yachtsman hands down, Shula's is more "formal" and the food is quite goood, portion wise I think they are as equal as can be...huge steaks available great salads /sides..I prefer the wait staff at Yachtsman..never had a poor service..not say that I have at Shula's either..Atmosphere is better at the Yachtsman IMO..I've said many times throughout these forums that the Yachtsman is our favorite place to eat in the Disney Bubble..bar none!

Yachtsman. Shula's is a chain and you can visit in places other than Disney. I would do the Yachtsman since its only at WDW!

Hooray!!!! That is wonderful news!!! Soooo excited for you and your family!! So much fun planning ahead for you!!!
I have not eaten at either but,,,, I would love to try yachtman.
DH is a vegetarian though not sure if he would enjoy it :(
