Can anybody here give me a real good description on shrek 4d.
I havent seen it, and probably never will, but if you can link me to a very good site that has information that will be fine too.
Also if you have any or know of anyone who does, pictures of the ride and how it looks.

This will be really appreciated

Shrek starts out in the Dulac castle. Fairy tale characters are locked up b/c Farqua has come back from the grave. Long story short the movie is based on Farqua wanting the princess. Seats move, cool effects!:animwink:

 OK

Thanks.

Not to sound mean or anything, and I know this probably already has been discussed before. But can you or someboody else give me a FULL description of how it is. Somewhat of a *dont read anymore bad spoilers ahead* kinda thing.

I really wanna know what they show, for I wanna see how they make fun of disney in the actuall attraction. Besides the posters outside in the que, what else in the show do the have that makes fun of disney.

Thanks:wave:

A frog eats Tinkerbell. That's about the only memorable Disney crack in the entire thing. When I have more time I'll post a full description, but until then you could look for the Shrek comic book, volume 1. It's the exact same story, and most of the same dialouge. The comic just doesn't have side comments about how 'neat' 3-D is.

Think about it folks, why does he want the princess when he was digusted at the end of Shrek 1...

* Plot problem *

Then you have the major plot problem involving the whole.

Preshow is in the dungeon...

Then the show goes straight into a theater without any explanation.

I waited 4 hours.. YES.... 4 hours for Shrek and it was a total BOMB... I was not happy with what i was watching, hearing, feeling or experiencing...

First of all... there has never been a 4 hour wait at Shrek because the filled queue + extended queue + extra extended queue = a 2 and a half hour wait. If the queue extends PAST the extra extended queue, then it becomes a hazard and Universal won't let anymore people in the line. Secondly, what fool would wait 4 hours to see a 3-D movie/ride? Thirdly, the ride has become a huge favorite among families. It was never meant to be a huge blockbuster ride but rather, a nice little addition. I'm sorry that you were foolish enough to waste your entire day at Universal waiting in this fictional line at Shrek. Next time, please don't lie because usually, people will call you on it like I am now. Your posts are ALWAYS negative and you never contribute anything of interest. :brick:

Here is a little review I wrote for another site...I will add more about the specific ride experience when I have the time. :)

Shrek 4D is a very fun attraction, but I felt, overall, it fell short of being a well-themed, integrated attraction. Individual aspects of the entire attraction are very well done and very enjoyable. The pre-show is very funny, the moving seats are a riot and the actual "movie" is entertaining, but together they don't quite work together and ultimately made me find the attraction as being nothing more than "decent".

[MILD SPOILERS AHEAD] The pre-show sets us up in the dungeons of Lord Farquad's castle about to enter the torture chamber and is very well done. Yet, this entire premise is quickly forgotten and ends up being virtually a waste of time, since once we enter the main auditorium and the movie starts, the whole torture idea is never mentioned again and we are basically left just watching a Shrek sequel, in many ways. The pre-show ends up doing nothing for the main show. Another problem with the pre-show is its length with much of it being nothing more than a "Cliff notes" version of the first movie....which makes the pre-show less entertaining during repeat visits.

Secondly, the moving seats are quite surprising and were incredibly fun, AT FIRST. Unfortunately, the effect is used too liberally and unfortunately ends up being nothing more than a distraction....both from the loud "air compression" sounds the seats make, sometimes making it difficult to hear the rather lackluster sound system, and the physical jarring motion they do...in fact, the times the seats move seem random, adding to their "distracting" qualities.

The other 4D effects used are nothing new. In fact, the "spider effect" is rather lame as this effect was much more appopriate as used in the Honey I shrunk the Audience show at Epcot.

The pre-show room is well-themed, but the main auditorium is suprisingly sparse and rather bland. Perhaps this is a reflection of the disparities in the themeing of the attraction between its pre-show and main movie.

Shrek 4D is very fun and an attraction that I believe many will enjoy and is definetely an attraction that deserves to be seen....but it ultimately falls short in reaching the "overall" enterainment value that other 3D/4D show efforts provide, including Terminator 2: 3D and the new Mickey's Philharmagic at the Magic Kingdom
