Visiting Disneyland for the first time with 3.5yo, 5.5yo girls.
Seems all the shows are around 9pm. Is it worth it to keep the kids awake for that? Especially that we need to wake up early for the park the next day. Also is there enough action for this age for 30 minutes of a show?
If you answered yes what are the best shows / parade for them, and what is the best place to see them (e.g. reserved seats after a dinner). We reside in the Grand Californian hotel so easy access is a bonus.

Thank you!

No. Not worth it.

The best trip you can have will be to try to stick to their regular sleep schedule all the way through. Then keep them up late your last night to watch the fireworks. That way when they're melty and difficult the next day, you aren't also trying to make great memories. You can just comfort them and give them snacks and hopefully get them down for a longer nap.

You would know your kids better than any of us and whether keeping them up late is worth the hassle. As @dryerlintfan said, if you really want to go for it then wait until the very last day so at least the kids can sleep while traveling the next day and you don't have cranky kids in the parks.

Since you are staying at the GCH the "easiest" option would be World of Color. You'd be just a few minutes away from your room after the show ends. I'd recommend trying to do either the virtual queue or dining package which will reserve you a place to watch and you don't have to be there as early to find a good spot. I think the colors, songs, and video clip would be enough to entertain the kids.

I just returned with a 6 yo and a 3 yo. The 6 yo watched parts of the MSEP twice but then wanted to go on rides, the 3 yo slept.
