Showcase Plaza Info

I've searched and searched and could not find the information in a previous thread even though I KNEW it existed. Everytime I've been to see Reflections at Epcot- I've always tried to steer away from WS Plaza b/c it always seems too crowded. For this trip in October however, I'd REALLY like to see it from this spot. Can anyone tell me where exactly to stand to get the best view here. How close is too close and so forth. Do you have to sit down??Also- I'd read somewhere they keep this area roped off until a certain time. When is that time, and what time is the best to get there to secure the best spot for viewing and possibly video taping. Any info or personal experience would help greatly. Thanks!

It's been a while since we've done it, so my memory's a little hazy. I can't remember any ropes blocking it until a certain time, but that may be new since we last did it. To get right up front, you sit behind the railing. I believe that it's sitting room pretty much back to the planter, but I could be wrong. I believe that they do let you stand behind the shops. Maybe somebody that did it more recently can clarify.

If my memory doesn´t fail me, I remember I saw ropes behind the two stores on the sides of the Plaza. Those were the areas for guests with dissabilities.
Guests sit down in WSCP, but mainly the ones in the first rows. It does get crowded as you have seen in previous visits.
The heat from the barge can be felt even if you are standing in the back of the Plaza.
Give it a try, standing or sitting... the view is worth the wait. :animwink:

Thanks for the info guys. The sitting down thing is- will that impair the view of the globe, or any other elements of the show. I've always seen it from standing up so...

The only place you are required to sit is the "stage" area up near the railing. If you are on that elevated portion you have to sit through the entire show. Everywhere behind that, you are allowed to stand. People usually sit down there until the show starts. Then you need to stand up to see the effects on the water and so forth. Usually, you can find a good place there 15 or 20 minutes before showtime, depending on the crowds.
