Show Times and Crowds?

Ok, so I realize January's the time to do all the updates and rehabs for rides, considering hardly anyone is there. But in an 8 day time frame, they're only showing Fantasmic TWICE??? This makes me cranky, people. (We won't even talk about the fact that Splash is down for a few weeks...don't care if it's cold, would ride it in a blizzard.)

Fill me in. Will these times be likely to change now that the place is crazy booked because of the Buy 4 Days Get 3 Days deal? Will they do more shows? Extend hours?

If not, how early would you start lining up for the show?

What should we expect for crowds because of the deal? I remember in '04, it was cold but nearly empty in Jan.

I know there aren't any solid answers, but anyone who can hazard a guess, I would welcome your thoughts! :~)

there won't be any extensions because it isn't "crazy booked". It'll be very light in the crowd department. No one can predict how the two nights of Fantasmic! a week will go since Disney has never done this before, but I would guess you'll have to line up at least an hour early even in the off season. Things will get really interesting later in the Winter and early in the Spring, though...

You can expect the crowds for the shows to be identical...get in line when they advise, and you won't have a problem.

The deals they run, like the Buy 3 get 4, or the free dining plan, don't do anything in the big picture to increase the crowds at WDW....what it does do is bring more people into the on-site resorts....

By the time you get to the Parks themselves, it will be negligible as far as change in crowds with or without any specials they run

On a positive note - Disneys posted Park Hours, Parade and Show Schedules are ALWAYS subject to change. Nothing is set in stone - even on the day you arrive. Keep checking back :animwink:

I didn't things were 'crazy booked' either, until we called 3 weeks ago to make a reservation and the only hotels open were the Deluxe and Home Away From Home Resorts. We kept calling back until a week ago they told us POP was available...

If that's not true, why do they DO that? Always curious.

Thanks Captain Hook - I will keep hoping they magically make more Fantasmic shows and it will be so warm that they'll put off the Splash rehab for a week or two :animwink: (Hey, it could happen...) Thanks!

If you're looking for a room with a discount, there's only a certain number of rooms eligible for it.
I was playing around after booking the 4+3 at Pop last night, and I was looking to see how much it would be to upgrade to POFQ, but NOTHING was coming up. It kept saying "Nothing availble these dates" or something. But without the discount, tons of options were available.
