should we take the weekend trip?

my fiancée and I on our latest trip in March purchased annual passes as it was cheaper since we're going in November. We were thinking we'd really like to squeeze one more visit out of the annual passes and really get their moneys worth.

I have a ton of credit card reward points that are about to expire. But we were thinking maybe we'd eat the 450 points that are gonna expire and redeem those towards our honeymoon flight next august (you get one guess as to where we're going for our honeymoon!)

So we looked into a Friday night to sunday night run. Do you think it's even worth to go for those 2 days (since you're not getting any park time on Friday)

It was about $400 each with redeeming all my reward points towards the flight. And that was doing no sort of dining whatsoever, just qs the entire time.

what do you guys think?

Yup! I'm going down July 11-14 to squeeze an extra weekend out of the annual pass. I have free flights in points and got a good annual passholder rate at the BC. We also land at 10am on Thursday and fly out at 9pm on Sunday to make it closer to a 4 day weekend. Carpie Rodent (seize the mouse!)

Absolutely, yes. We have done this for the exact reasons you note. Use up some points and "squeeze" extra money out of the AP. I wasn't sure we would enjoy it but it has always been great. One time we surprised some friends of ours by calling them and asking if they wanted to grab a drink, when they said "we can't we are at Disney" we said "yes, we are right behind you!" Talk about a shocked looked.

But, yes do it.

The thing is, is we don't know if maybe we should save the credit card reward points for our honeymoon to Disney in august.

My fiancée and I are more than likely taking our honeymoon to wdw from 8/3/14 - 8/10.

Now I ran the dates for this year, 2013, since 2014 isn't available yet. If I redeemed my reward points, it would be about $350 per person if we did it for this year along with redeeming all my points.

If I bought through the airline for those same dates with cash, it's the same thing.

To go on the January trip I was talking about, with redeeming my points, flights would be less than $200 each.

Was the hypothetical August 2013 flight the price it is because it's fairly close?

Thanks all! :)
