Should we still eat at Kona Cafe?

Have been reading that the Poly is undergoing construction. Going in July and have ADR's at Kona. Plus the monorail is under rehab from 11-7. Will the monorail still be undergoing maintenance in July? Wouldn't think so... I know July is a ways off, but if Poly is a mess would rather try to change my ADR's now instead of later when I probably won't be able to get anything. Suggestions? Comments??

The Monorail should be up and running by then. Also, you will be missing out on great food if you cancel Kona. Just IMHO

The monorail will be back in full swing at the end of March. Both Kona and 'Ohana are on the second floor of the Great Ceremonial House and will not be impacted by any refurbishment going on in the lobby. Both restaurants are excellent and worth keeping ADRs for!

i wouldn't change. We go to the Kona Cafe for breakfast at least one time whenever We visit The World. I love the OJ....Kona Coffee.....Pineapple Macadamia Nut Pancakes. You will not be disappointed. But if you feel the need to change, try The Grand Floridian Cafe....very nice!

Don't cancel. I will probably never take a trip to WDW again without going to Kona. Its my favorite breakfast! the Lunch is nice too, its not too busy.

Keep it! I wouldn't stay there for a vacation during all the construction but the restaurants there r still accessible and just plain great! R u doing breakfast or lunch at Kona? Never had dinner but breakfast is just awesome! Some truely unique dishes with lots of flavor! It was our families favorite "new" place to eat last trip!

As others have noted, you should keep it! It's on my list of things to do next trip and while I definitely can't see myself staying at the Poly during the construction, eating there is a totally different story.

I'm at the Poly now, no construction in the main building (by Kona Cafe), they do have a good bit going on outside and what not though. Also, the monorail currently is open on the weekends full time but by July they should be done with them so they will be open fully all the time.

I had dinner here in the middle of February so I can't speak for breakfast or lunch. The bread was pretty good, but beyond that there was nothing on the menu that my family ordered including the sirloin steak that I would go back for. The surroundings felt like I was eating in a cafeteria. I am not a picky person. Ohana's was booked.
