In the early trip planning stages and looking for info on the Copper Creek villas construction project. Anyone know if the construction has started yet and when it is expected to be complete? Thanks!
Yes, construction has started, over a year ago. The renovated studios will open sometime next year (the Lodge wing closest to the Boulder Creek DVC building). Copper Creek...not even DVC staff know (or they've been instructed not to say). The cabins are up, along with the larger building that will be a DVC sales center.
If you are hesitant to stay due to the construction, I wouldn't be concerned. Majority of the construction (when we were there couple of months ago) was between the existing DVC villas and the main Lodge and the main pool area leading to the boat dock. Yes, trees were removed along Bay Lake shoreline, but now you get a fantastic view of the island and those pine trees will be replanted...and they grow quickly.
I've got two stays booked at Boulder Creek next year...I'm not concerned.
Agreed. The pool area was lovely last summer as it wasn't overrun. And we never had trouble finding a table at Roaring Fork.We were there in August and the construction did not impact us at all. In fact, with one whole wing of the hotel closed as they convert to DVC, the crowds were sparse.
Thx @bunnyman! We'll just have to wait and see what the DVC availability is when it's time to book.We were there in August and the construction did not impact us at all. In fact, with one whole wing of the hotel closed as they convert to DVC, the crowds were sparse.
Thx @MansionButler84! The Lodge is our first choice if we can't get in at AKL. Have to wait to see what DVC says is availableAgreed. The pool area was lovely last summer as it wasn't overrun. And we never had trouble finding a table at Roaring Fork.
