As most of you already know, I posted a proposal for a 6th Disney Theme park. So far, I have two parks; Phase 1: the Magic Kingdom, and Phase 2: a Studio/Production based park with a thrill ride section similar to Paradise Pier at California Adventure.
I had planned the second phase of this project to be a larger take on California Adventure-- which has Hollywood Studios (though only for demonstration purposes, IIRC), along with Paradise Pier and Golden State; and found it a logical choice to combine the studios with a "thrill ride" area consisting primarily of rides too intense to fit in the Magic Kingdom. However, some of you thought that the "Paradise Pier" type area did not fit in at all with the studios, and should be in a separate park completely away from the studios.

With that, I had been considering putting the thrill rides in a park alongside an area similar to WDW's Boardwalk, which would be logical. If not, this park could be more like Universal's Islands of Adventure. However, I'm not sure if these attractions alone would fit in a park by themselves. As for myself, I think Phase 2 is fine the way it is! If World Showcase and Future World (both completely different) can fit together at EPCOT, I don't see why these 2 areas can't come together in the same park.

Another thing I could do is place the thrill rides/attractions in a water park, much like Tokyo DisneySea. What do you think?

If these sections should be separate or not, what suggestions do you have? I could use all the help I need, so feel free to post your questions/comments and/or suggestions! Also remember to vote in the poll above! :)

Well KentB3, the reason Future World and the World Showcase fit togehter is because EPCOT is more of an educational park, thus seeing right to put them together. World Showcase was actually going to be a seperate park, according to my book Walt Disney Imagineering: A Behind The Dreams Look at Making the Magic Real. The Paradise Pier idea seems better as a seperate park, more like a Boardwalk.

I'm glad you brought that up! WDW's Boardwalk is a neat little area that would great to include, and adding amusement park rides would be a nice touch!

If I do move the Paradise Pier-like thrill rides to the boardwalk area, what else should I do with this park? I was seriously considering combining these rides with a water park area, since many amusement/theme parks do in fact have water rides in the same park with mechanical ones. IMHO, that's a MUCH better combination than pairing the thrill ride area with the studios!
