Good Morning All. Excuse the song title thread but for all you folks who have been to Disney so many times that you have found your ideal resort. But after staying at it on every visit, have you ever decided to try a different resort, then after a few days, you wished you had stayed at your old favourite. We have stayed at CBR (1) POFQ (1) and PORS (3) but always considered CSR but yet to try incase we think we wished we had stayed at Riverside. What are your thoughts on this.?;)

Hatter, you bring up a really good argument for staying with your tried and true PORS. You are already over the moon about PORS. It's not like you are on the fence about it. You absolutely LOVE PORS. Would you love the WL? No doubt. Might it become your new true love? Possibly. Is it worth an additional $3,500? That is a real tough call. Only you know how well that $3,500 should be spent but I could buy a lot of beverages, trinkets and extras for $3,500.

I stayed at CS this past spring because it was 10% cheaper, I had every intention of staying at POR. It wasn't long before I wish I had. I didn't dislike CS but the food situation in April was a real issue when the QS went Buffet and guests were not liking it as much as Disney said they were. It made the Snack Bar almost unmanageable.
I'd check and see if they worked out the food service before I'd consider staying there again. I still find it irking that I have to leave a tip at the QS dining. I'm not cheap, I tip well, but when the meal is self service QS it is mind boggling. There is not a reason to have wait staff to bring you a beverage at QS then set it up for a mandatory tip situation.

If they fix the food service, I'd stay there again. I also split POR and Contemporary. I hated that hotel with kids, parading through lobby to get to pool with all the non resort guests mulling around. I was sorry we resort hopped that time.

I have stayed at many wdw resorts and my all time favorite is Wilderness Lodge if you are willing to spend the money. The atmosphere is wonderful and the location is great. No view of fireworks from the resort but MK is just a short boat ride away. The GF, POLY and CR all all also a short boat ride away. When I was younger I really did enjoy the watersports from these marinas and the view. The Animal kingdom Lodge is also fabulous but there is something about the location of the WL that takes the cake. When on a budget you really can't beat Pop Century. My son enjoys the overly themed resort, pool games, and movies outside. There is even pizza service to your room to save money. The only resort I didn't like was the camp ground where we had a cabin. Cabin was nice but the resort is too spread out. You can't just up and walk somewhere. I agree that resort hopping is a good way to try different places you like. Take advantage of the 30% off offers you find online. Also, don't count out the Swan and Dolphin, which I often see on hotels.com often with discounted rates. I stayed at the Dolphin and enjoyed the boat service and the close walk to the Boardwalk.

we are going back to POFQ for the third time in april ( we stayed at riverside AB in 97 and didnt like it)
I would have liked to stay at beach club but having walked through it last time we thought it seemed a bit sterile for us. & again we drove through CB and where not keen .

We could have stayed at animal kingdom for a little bit more but decided against because it is further away from everywhere and there would be nowhere for my dad to walk when i go out without him , He likes to walk over to riverside and around the grounds
