I was lucky enough to get a PIN for either a room discount or free dining. My DH wants to go the first week of April, 2004 but I am reluctant because I think we will still be dealing with Spring Break crowds. I am not really familiar with "the world" at this time of the year as we have only gone in late May and September. Can someone give me an idea about the crowds, the weather, etc. Should we go then? The PIN does has other dates available.

I was going to ask the same thing. I always avoid the "busy" seasons. But this year my kids have the first week of April off. With Easter being so late this year was curious if things wouldn't be too busy.

We are going that week! But if you look at the crowd calendar it isn't bad because Easter is super late this year and so a lot of schools won't be out for spring break until the end of April.

that's the only time weve gone. late april 2010 and late april 2012 and were going again in late april early may of 2014....even with easter on april 20th, were not checking in until sat the 26th so well be good. we love it as the weather has been great, the crowds are very decent. im sure early april would be the same

The earlier in April you go the better you will be... Easter falls at the end of April this year so alot of spring breaks will be the last 2 weeks in April. You may find some crowds early april, but I think thye will still ne manageable. Looking at the 2014 crowd calendar on easywdw is shows the 1st week in april as being a 6 out of 10 for crowds. Late May IMO will be worst in terms of crowds. Sept will be your best bet.

Our very first trip was the first week of April and I will NEVER go during that time again. It was sooooo packed, especially MK. 60-90 minute waits for most everything, we had a hard time finding places to sit down for meal times or just to get out of the heat. Parades were brutal.

I should discourage you from going at that time since we will be there too, but actually, I think the first week of April 2014 is right between Spring Break (middle to end of March) and Easter (April 20). Touring Plans rates a lot of the Spring Break crowds as 7 out of 10 and a lot of the crowds around Easter are 9 out of 10. The first week of April rates 5's and 6's out of 10. For reference purposes, September crowds rate as 2's and 3's.
I think people have such divergent views on the first week of April because of the variability of Easter. If Easter hits that first week of April, it's going to be bad.
So, maybe we'll see you in April 2014!
