the last time i went to Disney they had the option to if i remember correctly buy the cd ahead of time so you got all the pictures that were taken. i did that, but i remember wondering if i should have bothered my kids then were slightly older than the first time i went so not as into the character meet and greets so most of my shots were just the posed which i might have just bought individually and saved money. I remember at the time most of the pictures i wanted were not included in the photopass deal ie rides etc etc so i ended up spending more than 100 for the cd to start and much more on ride photos and such , now they have memory maker what makes that different than the photopass cd? do you get more options for photos? whats the plus side of getting it i guess is my question . my kids are now 19 and 16 and yes we will do a few character meets and a few posed shots of us as a family, but i'm wondering if the memory maker worth the $$ ?

Honestly, I think it all depends on whether you want to take a camera into the park or not. We did a memory maker this last time, and some of the perks that made it worth it for me were the ride photos and adding the Disney touches during the editing process. It was nice because we had a large group and we could add all the photos together. Plus, we split the cost, so it was pretty reasonable. I did the download option, so I just burned CD's for the family members with the pics I knew they's want.

If you take a camera with you, you can hand your camera to the CM taking the pics and still get great pics. You just won't have the Disney editing options. This is what I've done most trips and I think i'll do again.

the ride photo's are included thou? hmmm that was one issue i had the last time those were the pic's i wanted them all and they at that time were not included in the cd. Is it select rides or all rides that have photo's do you know? it might be worth it for that

Disney should sell some kind of software you can buy where you can put borders, character images, and background music to your pictures and make a slideshow or pictures and video clips. I have this outdated software from Photoshow (now owned by Roxio) that has that kind of stuff but it would be great to have a totally Disney version of this.

We did the Memory Maker and it was great. Ride photos are included, usually a photographer is at character meet and greets. We got some great shots in front of the castle, tree, hat, and spaceship earth. Photographer took our photo during Wishes and got some great shots. Then you can download every photo that is taken off of the My Disney Experience website. We would definitly get Memory Maker again in the future.

we are all photographers.. both of my kids have DONE IT FOR A LIVING.. and well, I was the shooter, before they grew up.. we had six of us.. and to a person.. we all regret not doing this.. for $199, divided by the three couples, we really missed out.. because of just the ride photos alone.. plus no one just walking by, can get you as good as a true pro.. we all thought that of everything we did this past trip.. this was the one thing that we 'missed the boat " on..

I got memory maker for our trip last month. I'm so glad I did! I ended up making posters for my daughter using the memory maker photos of her and Elsa and Anna and the borders that are offered. They really turned out cute. I also love the ride photos. We got some good laughs from those. The look on my kids faces were priceless and there is no way I could get those shots myself. Sure, it's expensive but I ordered the prints and posters from Walgreens so I saved a lot in that aspect. It's nice you don't have to order prints from Disney.

I'd have to weigh in and say... look at the pros and cons of getting it or not. If you've got your own camera and the on-ride photos aren't a big loss if you don't have them, then it might be a lot of money saved. Having and using your own equipment (the CMs will gladly use YOUR camera to take pics of you as well as theirs, btw) enables you to instantly have the results. No waiting to see it online, etc.

I remember when my gf and I came home after our last trip and we logged on to see our pictures and not all of them were on there. We entered all the right info from the photopass stuff and a good chunk of stuff wasn't there. Thankfully, I had my own camera there, so those memories weren't lost by me trusting Disney with them.

I didn't necessarily care for the alone shots of some of the characters because I had met them while we were there. I'm also not one who cares for the on-ride photos. All they are good for (to me) is to backup the story that I really did get on the ride. Maybe in the future with kids and such that'll change, but I remember what I did on my vacation from 2 years ago.

Anywho, as I said prior, just go back and weigh why you might want it or might not. The biggest thing that others and myself have basically boiled it down to is: Are you bringing your own camera or not?

I bought the memory maker for our trip this past June and will do it again. The ride pictures are worth it alone and as a single dad its great to have all of us in pictures and we do some of the M&G where the professionals
photographers are great. They actually help the interaction between the characters and your family. Smart phones are fine but even the best doesn't give great quality photos especially if you want to enlarge them.
