:) GREETINGS FROM YOUR NEIGHBORS IN THE GREAT WHITE NORTH. MY HUSBAND AND I ARE SERIOUS DISNEY CONSUMERS AND DIE HARD FANS. MY HUSBAND AND I BOTH VACATIONED AND ENJOYED DISNEY WITH OUR FAMILIES AS CHILDREN. AFTER WE MARRIED WE HONEYMOONED IN DISNEYLAND AND HAVE SHARED OUR LOVE FOR EVERYTHING DISNEY WITH 4 CHILDREN AND CONTINUE TO SHARE THIS FAMILY TRADITION WITH 5 GRANDCHILDREN. FOR THE PAST 27 YEARS, ON AVERAGE WE MANAGE TO MAKE IT BACK TO DISNEYLAND EVERY 2-3 YEARS. WE SPARE NO EXPENSE IN REGARDS TO ADDITIONAL SPENDING ON DISNEY SOUVENIERS, CLOTHING AND COLLECTIBLES.
WE WERE TRILLED TO LEARN ABOUT THE DISNEY VISA AWARDS CARD. WE WERE SADLY DISSAPOINTED WHEN WE LEARNED THAT IT IS ISSUED THROUGH CHASE BANK USA AND SEEMINGLY UNAVAILABLE TO CANADIANS.
IN A WORLD WHERE CREDIT AND DEBIT HAVE TAKEN OVER, IT WOULD SEEM REASONABLE TO EXPECT THAT THE MAGICAL KINGDOM COULD COME UP WITH A SPELL TO MAKE THIS WONDERFUL DREAM A REALITY. VISA IS RECOGNIZED AND ACCEPTED AROUND THE WORLD.
THOUGHTS? I AM SURE THAT THERE ARE MANY PEOPLE FROM AROUND THE WORLD THAT FEEL THE SAME WAY AS WE DO.

My $0.02 on this is that the REWARDS card is only moderately good. First, you have to pay the balanace every month. Most Americans don't. Second, you can save more than 1% when using cash. Using a cc is too convenient.

I pay mine 3 times a week, had it for 6 months now, spent close to $15,000 on it and never paid a penny of interest :) But I do agree with you it make little sense to get 1% back on 10% interest.

Not sure about your second point though, how does using cash save me more than 1%?

I imagine there could be a few books of regulations that would need to be consulted in order for Chase and Disney to offer the card in Canada.

There's a simple solution- America could always use a few more states. Certainly we'd be proud to welcome Quebec, who have toiled too long under the heels of Canadian Dominion!

What do you mean you can save more than 1% using cash?

That is a questionable statement. If you are more frugal while using cash, you can easily save 10% on purchases. Before I started using my VDR card, I laways thought about my purchases. Ever since, I just make the purchase and worry about it later. When I used cash, I would withdraw $100 at a time. $10 immediately went to my other bank account I never withdraw from and I only use $90.

I see, yeah that does make sense.

I do the same thing is a way with my Disney Visa, I know I am going to pay it off twice a week so I only use it for things I have the cash for anyways if that make sense. But that willpower only comes from getting my butt kicked by credit card debt before....a few times :)
