Ok, I would like to take a short extended (3day) weekend trip at a value resort on a passholder discount. I enter my dates and only moderates pop up for availability for those days. Not too bad, but not what I wanted to spend on this trip. So, I change the dates to see if there is different availability. Sure enough, if I change the reservation from 3 days to 5 days, I get availability for a value resort at the passholder rate. What kinda gets me though is that my original three dates are included in the five new dates so I know that there is availiability at this rate for those original days; but when I want just those three dates, I can't get them. Availability is availability, right? I have never had this happen in years past, but this same situation has come up on my last couple of trips. Has this happened to anyone else lately? Is Disney showing a preference for booking longer stays, and foregoing shorter ones? I can't see them turning away any bookings if they are forecasting such a slow first quarter for their on-site properties. As a passholder, I like to take shorter trips and maximize my visits over the year. Disney just seems to be making it harder to make these short trips; and they seem to be bypassing some passholder benefits in ever more sneaky ways. What gives?
