So we had a nice little short weekend trip (our first as AP holders) and wow the Studios and epcot offered almost nothing. When your on vacation you fill all that time with shows and the small things but on a local weekend trip? Not so much. Really allows you to soak in how needy both parks are. So here's some observations and than a few questions.
Magic Kingdom was fairly pleasant but I did notice small pieces of trash (napkin ect) in the pirates boats as you load....a cm could have taken 5 seconds to grab two pieces of trash IMHO. Splash still looked pretty good and was fun as always. The wait times for seven dwarfs mine train are still astronomical and really beyond me. Oh one other tid bit the ferry ride over was quite dirty. Peeling paint in a few places and more noticeably lots of dust and such all over the ceiling of lower deck. Isn't third shift meant to do basic cleaning? Also wasn't there once an automated spiel on the boat? I couldn't hear any audio except for the unload warnings. The air conditioning was working well in most que spaces but was a bit warmer in the ride areas themselves. Veryou noticeable on the little Mermaid ride for example. Last MK point I REALLY think astro orbiter is too small for the demand I really wish they would expand it or something the wait time is absurd to ride.
At epcot I felt really out of sync there was so much unused space even beyond the empty buildings themselves. Reiterating what some on here have said the seas isn't ruined by Nemo and I accept that character placement. The integrity of the rest of the pavilion is pleasant. Didn't even walk into the land with no soaring no real point right? Test Track had 60+ waits all day actually read 330 minutes at one point on the app (likely a bug right?) And mission space (although I enjoy it) really isn't doing anything to help park capacity with the fact nobody wants to ride it. Future world really felt like test track and SSE were the only thing that was relative. Speaking of SSE the air conditioning was very underwhelming however the smell of Rome burning was great bug I didn't notice the carriage in the road network scene the moving carriage? No effect? Moving on we ate at biergarten and I was pleased not the best but good ENOUGH.
At AK I found the atmosphere swell however I still felt the park lacked true attractions. Dinosaur looked very dark and so much didn't work...it needs some TLC.
The studios....oh the Studios Disney has crammed artificial entertainment in every nook and cranny but your still so empty. TOT was still amazing as always though and remains the only ride that gives me the stomach disco.
Questions. (This poped into my head at random)
1. I have seen @marni1971 TOT drawing but how many total cars are there period?
2. On the SSE decent there was a hole of sorts to the right of the ride that appears to be some kind of prop or well something? What is it?
3. The American music machine was neat have they been there long?
4. The entrance IE turnstiles of mgm will be enlarged with resto for park right? I feel the capacity of the entrance is very low am I right?
5. There's some construction to the left rear of the tree of life(not the rivers of light side) I don't think I have seen this on the board?
6. The hight marker out front of evrest is lower (apparently) that the "official" marker so if your son's 43.5 inches you get told how the front post is decorative in nature....why not just remove that first stick?
Edit: flamingo crossing is nice. Good price. Nice rooms. And nice empty location so easy drive in.
Thanks and enjoy!
