Short Honeymoon

Hello all....

I'd like to take a quick poll regarding my upcoming stay at Disney re: my short honeymoon. I've asked a general question previously and am now getting down to details.

My wife-to-be and I plan to take a long honeymoon in Italy next year. However, as we are getting married in late October, we plan to take a short (4 day/4 night) honeymoon to Disney immediately following our big day.

We are planning on staying at the Wilderness Lodge and will use the dining plan. The standard room w/dining costs around $1,900.00 for the four nights. We haven't stayed at this particular Disney hotel, but have received favorable feedback here and from friends re their stays. That being said, we can stay at the Polynesian for around $2400.00 with dining. I stayed there once as a kid and really enjoyed the in-house monorail. Typically, we don't use the pools or other amenities/restaurants at the hotel....we are in-park type people.

Sorry this is longwinded. My dilemma: How much slower/more difficult is the transportation from Wilderness Lodge to the parks compared to the Polynesian experience? And is that worth and extra $125.00 night?? Remember, we are saving to go on a 10+ day trip to Italy next spring.

Thanks in advance...y'all are always helpful,

dave

It will take a little longer to get to the MK from the Wilderness Lodge but you get to take a boat. :)
If you really want the monorail perhaps the Contemporary has a better deal, I think it is closer in price to the WL

Have you looked that the Contemporary? They are usually a little cheaper than the Poly and their cheapest rooms are much bigger than the rooms that the WL.

If you stayed at the WL it would take you a little longer to get the MK, but it is accessable by boat. It should take about the same amount of time to get to any of the other parks from WL vs. Poly.

I looked at the Contemporary....the rates I get are even higher that the Polynesian....

However...it looks as though y'all believe the staying at the WL and saving the cash is probably the better option...

Thanks for the thoughts, folks...

Anyone else have any thoughts??

Never stayed at WL but we do usually end our trip with a few nights at the Poly and just love it. The ease of getting to the MK on the monorail is a high point. As far as getting to other parks, it's probably a toss up... Either way, you can't go wrong. It's you two that will make the experience, not the resort... :D

Congrats!! :sohappy:
