Shore Excursions for the Canada Sailings

I know we've talked about this before in very general terms, but now I'd like to ask a very specific question. Does anybody have any insight into the shore excursion "Hopewell Rocks Tidal Discovery" in St. John?

It's a 7 hr. excursion and includes a long bus ride each way. Has anybody seen the Hopewell Rocks site? Did you enjoy it? Is it worth a 1.5 - 2 hr bus ride?

Thanks.

I really wanted to do this excursion but then I looked at the tide times. The day we are there high tide is at 11:00 AM. The flower pots are really impressive at low tide especially when you can get down on the ocean floor and walk around them, so not being able to do that decided it was not the excursion for us.

Been there dozens of times and here's the thing. It's a bunch of rocks. It's like Peggy's Cove, Nova Scotia (basically my backyard) in that some people visit and wonder why they came all this way for a bunch of rocks.

For the Hopewell Rocks they are most imporessive if you can see them at high then at low tide since the difference is amazing. If you can only see them once (which will be the case for a shore ex) then you should see them at low tide so you can at least "Walk the ocean floor"

I wouldn't say it's worth it to travel that long just to see them in high or mid-tide. Check tide times for the rocks here:

Here is a video showing the tide changes:

The day we'll be there, it looks like low tide will be at 11 am and high tide at 5 pm. If the excursion begins at 9:30 am, will we get a really good experience?

Seems like we'll get there right after low tide, but I'm not sure.
