I just read that this came as a total surprise to Cook and that Cook got teary eyed during the meeting .

He was a good guy, the only executive who actually walked around on the D23 show floor talking to guests.

Very old school Disney.

Perhaps he fought to keep the movie tie-ins out of the park so Iger threw him out cuz he didnt want to play ball?

Wow, everything I have heard about this guy has been nothing but praise. But in todays world, everything is about the dollar. And I guess he wasn't making Disney enough of them. Thats the only thing I can think of.

I wonder if they will put that Marvel exec in his spot?

I bet it has nothing to do with the parks. Maybe personal issues got in the way?

That article did say that the two never had a close relationship, and there might have even been some hard feelings between the two......

________ Cook was also integral in smoothing out relations with Pixar during the Eisner/Save Disney fiasco which eventually allowed Iger to purchase Pixar.

I have a BAD feeling about this. It could be a "get a Marvel Exec. into a high postion now that we own them and find a way to "INTERGRATE" Marvel INTO the parks.

If Marvel in some way goes into DHS I could live with it. BUT you start putting them into AK or EPCOT and we should all revolt!!!

Not sure if I want them in MK either.

I am not really surprised by this. Rumblings of Cook's demise have been happening for some time now.

I fail to see all the concern over the parks.
