Next up to get a window on Main Street are Richard and Robert Sherman.:sohappy:

A fantastic tradition that is kept very well alive at Disneyland the most recent was for Marty Sklar. MSEP even has one:D

From the Disney Parks Blog, check out the video at the link:)

We’ve all heard it and we’ve all sung it and that’s what makes “it’s a small world” one of the most translated and performed songs on earth. Richard and Robert Sherman are the talented brothers who wrote the famous tune that you can’t get out of your head. You’ve probably also heard their other wonderful pieces of work throughout Disneyland park – past and present: Enchanted Tiki Room, Carousel of Progress, Adventures Through Space, as well as a long list of Disney motion-picture musical scores that includes “Mary Poppins,” “The Jungle Book,” “Bedknobs and Broomsticks,” “The Aristocats” and “Winnie the Pooh.” Next week the Sherman Brothers will be given one of the most prestigious honors that a Disney cast member can receive, a window on Main Street U.S.A. at Disneyland park. In the attached video, enjoy a look back at these talented brothers singing with Walt Disney himself.

Edit- Should note the ceremony takes place next week so no pictures of the window yet.

They do these ceremonies at Disneyland a couple times per year. I loved checking out the newer Rolly Crump window the other day.

I can't wait to see what they do for the Sherman brothers.

I am the only one wondering why it has taken so long for the Sherman brothers to get a window? These guys are Disney music. It is almost hard to think of an iconic Disney song not written by them.

Anyone have more details on this -- like the date/time it's going to happen? And do we know if the Sherman Bros will be on hand for an event or will this be a more quiet type of thing that just goes up?

And frankly, I think it's time that Disneyland gets the CoP back!!! WDW has borrowed it long enough, it's time to come home. (its second home anyways)

Haha! I actually grew up in Florida, so I never had it over here. I was just kinda hoping it would someday follow me back over to Cali. :) It's the least Disney can do considering Westcot never got off the ground.

And though DL's subs are cool (and still exist), 20k subs they are not!

You have excellent taste!

You know, as much as I love CoP, I still really miss America Sings. That show was great, and that jazzy yet cheesy 1970's load/unload music pretty much sums up that entire decade for Disneyland.

Congratulations to the Sherman Brothers! Their window reads, "Two Brothers Tunemakers." Here Richard Sherman is presented with a replica of the window:

it sounds like it was a nice event :) they had performers singing some of their classic songs.

From Disneyland's Twitter:
Richard Sherman speaks at ceremony: "I can't tell you how much it means to be here today. It's a wonderful thing."

...

The event concludes with "Let's Go Fly a Kite" and 5 kites are flown over Main Street, U.S.A.

Richard and Robert Sherman already have a permanent presence in Disneyland with their songs like “It’s a Small World” and “The Tiki Tiki Tiki Room.”

On Thursday, the songwriting brothers got a tangible place in the park.

Disney dedicated a window on Main Street U.S.A. to the Sherman brothers, the highest honor from the Disneyland Resort.
