Hi y'all. Does anyone have some info on the Sheraton Safari Resort- cleanliness, location, rooms, meals, pools, etc?
We were considering it for a first night stay.

I stayed there last fall for a couple days and found it to be pretty nice!

We got a good rate and only used it to extend our stay a couple days before heading to our Disney resort.

(DISCLAIMER) They have a floor for their "Starwood Preferred Guests" which is where we stayed, so how disfferent they were, if at all, from the other rooms, I don't know.

Anyway, they have the same great "Heavenly" beds as their higher priced sister Westin Hotels and the rooms were large and clean. I especially liked the sliding glass door to the balcony that is hard to find on most newer hotels. The lobby is small, but the pool area and pool bar were very nice. The pool features a "snake" slide, which the kids will enjoy.

Also convenient is the Manhattan bagel shop right next door and lots of other shops and restaurants within walking distance!

Overall, I would stay there again if I needed a room off Disney property!

HAVE FUN!

This is exactly my plan-stay 2 nights here uopn arrival then head to my on property resort. I'm using Starwood points fro the room (from a Starwood Rewards credit card). Does this make me a "Starwood Preferred Guest"?? and put me on the nice floor? If so, Do I need to request this?

Yep! If you have a rewards card, I think they consider you a "preferred guest".

I hope I didn't mislead you at all, but I didn't mean to imply that the "preferred guest" floor was any "nicer", as I never checked out any other floor to compare. It was nice though! :)

Also, they were re-doing an entire building at the time. (If I recall correctly, there are 4 buildings formning a square with the courtyard and pool in the middle) They gutted the entire thing from top to bottom and replaced EVERYTHING, so I know for sure there are some brand new rooms there too!

HAVE A GREAT TRIP, NEIGHBOR!
