Your help please. Virgin have just changed my hotel to above!. I had chosen to stay in Hotel Plaza due to being a non driver and being able to walk to DTD & Crossroads. Is this Hotel within walking distance of anywhere? How frequent are the coaches to DTD and the parks?. What standard is the hotel (I like clean, fresh rooms and good service). I need you advice as if need be I will have to grin and bear it and pay extra to stay in the Buena Vista Palace as at least I know the location is good.

The Sheraton Safari is a nice Hotel located just outside the gateway wntrance to Hotel Plaza Boulevard.
It is definitely NOT within "walking distance" to Downtown Disney!
It may only be 1/8 mile away, but there are no sidewalks on some of the route and it's not well-lit at night. Only the most adventurous would consider this a fun walk.
Crossroads, on the other hand, is right across the street. You can cut through the side parking lot if you want to.
There are lots of restaurants and shops right next to the Hotel!
The shuttles from the Hotel will take you to the parks on a set schedult ehat they have posted in the lobby. They run all day, with more frequent trips at park opening and closing.
I stayed there before on business and enjoyed my stay. It is an older hotel, but clean and well-staffed. They also have their famous "heavenly beds" which were great fater a long day in the parks. The pool and garden area are well-maintained and tropical! They also have high-speed internet in all rooms.
Go to their webpage and check it out. Sign up for their "Email Offers" and enroll in the Starwood Preferred Guest Program before your trip!
