Several papers in Shanghai have said that the government is planning tax free shopping at a large mall near the Shanghai Disneyland Resort. It also plans to ask for tax free shopping status at Shanghai Downtown Disney.

I wouldn't trust ANYTHING that the Chinese government has to say . Somewhere Walt is totally disgusted with DLS.

Given the gigantic market, it looks like DLS has the potential to swallow the entire Pudong aka East(of the river) area that is separated by a narrow river from Olde Shanghai and the rest of the Mainland. I hope that reclaimed land is sturdy enough to carry the weight of the Chinese masses. I bet it will be awesome especially since it will have cooler weather than Orlando but there is never ever going to be a slow "value" season in DLS. As it is, I have to remember to avoid the tiny Hongkong version during the two "Golden Weeks" when the Mainland Chinese have their mass holidays.

I can't wait for the DLS to be totally built out. It will mean that the Hong Kong version will be easier to visit.

I am not trying to call you out or anything and the websites I have looked at somewhat agreed with what you said but i went to China this past summer and it is the hottest thing ever. It was hotter and more humid that it is in inland Florida. The second I walked outside i would have sweat marks everywhere. But maybe overall year round it is not too bad.

no, you are totally right. I definitely meant going when it is wintry like Disney Paris. For some reason, their summers are HOT even in the North like in Beijing and Seoul where in ancient times, the girls would go out in sheer clothing in the summer (with no fear of being assaulted). I would not go near any Disney parks in Asia during the hot months and the GOLDEN WEEK(s) because you really believe you know what a billion plus people feels like.
