Shamu Up Close Video and Pictures

As promised I went to SeaWorld after work today and was able to get pictures and a video for you guys. The new experience is exciting and so neat to see. Shamu Up Close is open all day and the lady i talked to today said they will do one presentation an hour. They last about 12 minutes and are different through out the day.

You have unlimited time in the venu and are not forced out. Lots of educators are around to answer all of your questions.

Where is this located? It looks like the back area where Dine With Shamu was.

That is where it is located. For the 3 months while the show pool is under refurbishment they will be hosting Shamu up Close. Giving you a more personal and up close experience with the Orca's . There are several mini shows a day. About 1 an hour. They are incredible and this show is so good. Highly recommend all who can get there to see it before it goes away. While Shamu Up Close is open they will not have a Dine with Shamu

Thanks for that! I don't know how I missed this thread, I love SeaWorld and will not be there during this special time so it was nice to be able to experience this through your eyes.

I have experienced Shamu Up Close 8 or 9 times over the past 2 weekends. I always enjoyed seeing the regular Shamu shows, but this was just absolutely incredible. If you are a fan of the whales, Shamu Up Close can't be missed. I actually prefer this to One Ocean - the whales are big when you are in the stadium, but when you are literally 6 feet from them, it truly is life changing. You simply don't understand the power of nature until you are right there. I cannot recommend it highly enough and it's something I hope sticks around after the stadium reopens.

Great pictures ISTCrew20. It is amazing isnt it. I like it better then One Ocean as well. They are saying every intention is to bring Dine with Shamu back after One Ocean re opens. However on Saturday one of the staff members at Shamu Up Close said that guest reviews are very positive about the new expereince and to keep submitting feedback on it and to let SeaWorld know how much you love it. Maybe we will get lucky and they will be able to keep this in some form.
