Shades of Green

Anyone have pictures of the Shades of Green Resort? I'm not really looking for links. I'm much more interested in personal pictures of the place and experiences. My brother is in the Army now and I am curious about the resort. I have noticed some others recently asking a few questions as well, so they may be interested too.

I don't have any pictures but I can tell you a bit about it. Of course, this is all pre addition so it will be different when it reopens at the end of the year.

It is a lovely hotel, the rooms are very large, (I've read they are the largest on Disney property but I'm not sure of that. I do know the rooms are larger than the Polynesian.) Each room has two queens and a daybed. It's got bus transportation to all the parks that is pretty good. You can walk across the street to the Polynesian to catch the monorail. (Probably a 10-15 min walk) It is not themed like other Disney hotels, though there is a Mickey shaped pool and the sketch I've seen of the renovation has lots of nice looking landscaping around the grounds.

The bottom line on SOG is that it is the best deal to be had on Disney property. It is deluxe hotel, close to the action yet tucked away and very peaceful and depending on rank, rates are in the $60 to 100 range. (also no hotel tax)

We loved it when we stayed there and look forward to staying at it again in the future. The website indicated there will be some suites added during the renovation which will be a nice option for larger family groups. The other big plus is affordable food options. The restaurant wasn't great but the sports bar had good cheap food and I understand they are adding another restaurant. There was a nice breakfast cart in the front where you could get an inexpensive breakfast on the go. Hope this is helpful!

Come on, more people have bound to have stayed here and took pictures. Do the same perks apply to this resort like the other Disney resorts. Can someone staying at a Disney Resort Visit this resort or is it strictly Military?
