Hey folks!
Just wondering if anyone is planning to or has gotten hitched at Shades of Green? I am interested in seeing what their process is, general idea of costs, photos and all that jazz...
Thanks!

Although I can't really help with your question, it inspired me to look into Shades of Green a bit. We previously thought a WDW Wedding would be cost prohibitive, but based on the information we got from Shades of Green, this might be within our budget.

I, too, would be curious to hear from anyone who has had a Shades of Green wedding to get an idea of how nice it was. Right now, it sounds almost too good to be true (pricewise).

Hope someone can help!

Shades of Green is a beautiful resort. We saw a wedding in progress when we stayed there in '07. I can't really add anything else, except to say the couple looked very happy and the gazebo where they had the ceremony was just gorgeous. Can non-military members get married there? If so, you should definitely look into it. It really is a very pretty resort.

When is your wedding?
Bonnie at Shades of Green has helped me. We are going cheap ceremony cost is only $150.00 for a Gazebo wedding, you can't beat that for DW. Book early if you are planning a summer wedding. There is not much info out there on a Shades of Green wedding so maybe we can help each other out.
Room cost is based on rank. My dad is retired;both my mom and dad can hold up to 3 rooms each including their own. Bonnie can help to make a block elsewhere with Disney if needed.
If you have a particular questions please feel free to ask.

Military

No you do not have to be military but you do have to have a military sponsor. Check with Bonnie at Shades of Green for more info on a sponsor. Sponsors must be present.

I have been going to Shades of Green for years -it is great and a short walk from the monorail

Tip given to me from Disney: You can wear your Disney attire at resorts only for pictures not the parks and you can not get married at a Disney property without prior arrangements. You will be asked to move to another area if a Disney bride is in the same area as you.
