Shades of Green Overflow Availability

We booked one room at SOG for July and now find that we need a second room. Trying to book online...the dates come up green...."available" on the calendar. But when I try to book.....the dates come up unavailable. Do you think rooms are available if I call the hotel directly. Does anyone have any experience with SOG overflow at other hotels? Thanks!

I believe if SOG is booked they will put you in the contemp resort for the same price as the SOG room... I would look into that if you need more then one room, Might be worth it.

Unfortunatly they won't put you in the contemp resort for the same price as SOG (unless you get really lucky with a great discount). WDW allots SOG rooms for overflow that SOG can book you in for a discounted rate off the regular cost of the resort. This ranges from value to deluxe resorts. However, disney does not always give rooms for SOG to book for overflow. If WDW thinks they can book those rooms, SOG gets nothing and no overflow is available. Keep in mind, even if SOG can book you in another WDW resort room, it may not be for the best rate out there. If you want a deluxe hotel the Swan and Dolphin usually offer military discounts. You need to contact SOG asap if you can't get the rooms on the date that you want. Also talk to them personally about the dates you are trying for, their computer site is often wrong. In addition, they can sometimes work magic at accomodating the dates that you want. But, if they can't, they can inform you of any overflow rooms at the other WDW resorts that they have at the time.

Hope this helps.

PS. People cancel all the time in abundance. If SOG doesn't have another room available, put your name on the waitlist. Something usually always comes available. In the meantime, make your "overflow" or WDW Resort hotel reservations just in case nothing does come available at SOG. I believe that most of the WDW resorts allow cancellation up to the 5 days prior to your first booking date. SOG's cancellation policy is 30 days prior to your first arrival date.
