Setting up new magic band

I just ordered a new magic band from Shop Disney. It has arrived and need some help. We have a trip all planned for next month and our old free magic bands are showing as active in the MDE app. So I think I have to enter the new one in MDE and register it. Then how do I make my current plans tickets and all that in MDE that are linked to the old magic band link to the new one so she can use it when we go?

Simply add the new Magic Band to your MDE account. You can use it as well as any old bands (listed as active) interchangeably. No information is stored on a band; the band merely “points” to your MDE account where all your tickets and other plans are stored.

Everything is on your MDE. A magic band, or the cards they give you if you don't have a magic band are just "keys" to access your MDE account. Nothing is actually on the band, just like nothing is on the key cards that hotels give you. You can use you magic bands interchangeably also. Wear a different one every day if you want. When you get your new MB, you can enter the number on the back of it to your MDE account and it will be active.

As for using old bands keep in mind that they have approximately a two year lifespan. "Touch point" functions will continue to work even on old bands but such things as ride photos that require the transmitter to still be working will not.
