Set Pieces for Mission Space Spotted!

I took the backlot tour at MGM this past Thursday. I saw several large murals / sets being worked on. The tour guide stated that they were for Mission Space. A few of them looked like otherworldly skyscapes with horizons and planets or perhaps suns in the backgroud. They were all being painted in blacklight and looked very cool! I am assuming that these are for the pre or post show.

The building itself looks to be just about complete. I do believe that this attraction may have the coolest looking building of all at WDW! You have to see it in person to really get a scope of how masive it is. I cannot wait to see it up close!

didn't someone say before that those were for star tours 2? maybe i'm wrong...i'm sure they do lots of work back there though..

Yeah, they do quite a bit of work there. Someone posted some pictures of the supposed Star Tours 2 art. It was hard to make out from those photos but this was different art.

The tour guide said something along the lines of "This is our blacklight studio.. here we do many of the blacklight paintings for attractions around WDW. Right now we are working on murals for the Mission Space attraction that opens in 2003"

I just looked around the forum and could not find them. I thought they were in the digital media forum. It was hard to make out any detail in the pictures that I saw as they were taken from a moving tram. But I can tell you that what they were working on on Thursday was something new for Mission Space

IF they are the same. Then wouldn't them being made for M:S make more sense then for a new Star Tours?
