September

So my BF and I are planning a 2013 trip, and we were thinking September, the week AFTER Labor Day. By then the kids are back in school, it's still warm and the park SHOULD be less crowded.

What I'm wondering about is the weather. All the research I've done says that its hurricane season. I don't wanna go if the whole week is going to be rainy, so if anyone knows about how it generally is in September both with rain and crowds, I could use some help.

Crowds are about at the lowest you will see, and weather is generally very good. Rainfall and humidity are on the decrease. Obviously if a hurricane comes through that will change. So barring a hurricane, it is a GREAT time to visit.

As Steve said crowds are low, most rides are a walk on, we only go in September. The weather is HOT, expect a shower at some point most days, these don't last long! Orlando doesn't really suffer when hurricanes are about. We were in Florida peak hurricane season in '08 and '10. We never has any hurricanes.

Awesome! I'm glad to know it will be a good time!

We just wanted to go when there were less kids so we can actually SEE the attractions we paid for.

I'm also glad that we're less likely to deal with a hurricane that far inland.

You guys are all so helpful!

Incidentally, do they tend to offer free dining during September ever?

WDW are doing Free Dining when we go next September if that helps?

It will be hot and humid, but crowds are so little. I take the low crowd times over the weather every time we go.

When you look for flights, check into Providence and Nashua too sometimes Southwest has some good deals from those airports. We have found Jet Blue to have best options when flying out of Boston

My wife and I have went during that week in both 2009 and 2011. This past trip (last week) saw a bit more rain but the park crowds were very light. I would highly suggest that week to you!

I went to WDW September 2010 and it has been the best trip for me so far! The only downside, is the crane at Cinderella Castle. They put the christmas lights up in september and it sucks because you can't get good pictures with the castle. But other than that, great time to go!

Sept 2010 we went for a week and it rained (poured actually) only once the whole week and it lasted for about 1/2 hour. Luckily we'd just sat down for the Car Stunt show so we were sheltered for the half hour.

Sept 2008 we went for a week it rained maybe twice while we were there for 15-30 minutes each time. The once was just a sprinkle and the other time it rained pretty hard but we were on the monorail so we went and chilled at the contemporary for a bit.

Sept 2000 we went for a week and I don't believe it rained at all the entire week even though a hurricane was brewing if I remember correctly.

Hope that makes you feel better...

September is the best time to go in my opinion and we'll never choose another month.

I live in southeast Florida and can tell you we haven't had a hurricane in over 5 years that hit us. By the time it got to Disney it would only be a windy rain storm and they usually go threw quickly. Sept is still the rainy season here but that usually only means a quick afternoon thunderstorm, nothing that would ruin your plans. It is a very good time to go to Disney the parks are not crowded at all and yes they usually have free dinning during Sept. Have a magical time:sohappy:

I've gone to Disney twice now in September. Once at the end and once the first week of September.

I actually found both the weather and crowds to be better at the beginning of September. I think you will have a great time going this time of year.

Setember Visit

We live in the Disney area and never visted the parks in September until now. I must tell you it was one of the most enjoyable visits we've had. The parks were empty compared to other times, hardly any wait on lines, found a wonderful place (upstairs on the balcony of the Disney Railroad Ride) for viewing the parades, if the get there early enough. Hardly any wait for the buses when leaving and the weather was it's usual short rainstorms, and hot but didn't stop us. I think from now on I'll inform my family it's the best time to come and visit.

They have the packages for any amount of people they just use 4 as an example

Actually my question was do they have a Free Dining offer out now for Sept 2012?
I ask this because of this post below..

According to WDW web site its arrival dates from Oct 2011 - March 2012. That does not include Sept 2012. Did the poster from the quote above get something wrong or am I missing something yet again. I assumed next Sept is 2012. This Sept is 2011.

We always fly out of Manchester(not Nashua that one would be tough). Even if the fares are more $$. The parking is cheaper and the convenience/low crowds are better. Good luck and have fun planning.

Yes there are various free dining offers out there for September, but currently you either need to be there THIS September (bounceback) or live in Canada (or possibly the UK).

Hmmmm, I wonder, if UK residents can use an American travel agency and get US pricing, can I use a UK travel agent to get their offers?

Definiatley in the UK, I have the offer! They are doing free dining in 2 segments I can't remember the exact dates but I think the 2nd segment is offering Free Dining from March 2012 to November 2012. Go to the official WDW site then select the UK option at the bottom and you can see the offer.
