So the stars are potentially aligning for us to take a trip in September of 2015!!! Eeeek!

We are hoping to stay at Wilderness Lodge September 13th to the 19th!!

What are some pros and cons of September? Any suggestions? Everything is very flexible at this point! Let me hear them!!! Thank you!!!

Thinking about the same time frame, so I want to join in on this thread!! Here are my (personal) thoughts so far:

Pros - low crowds, possibly start of F&W if later in Sept, opportunity to go to MNSSHP, Halloween decorations

Cons - MNSSHP closes MK early, I've heard sept is HOT, need to take my kid out of school at the start of the year

We will be there from September 5-20. Will the Halloween Decorations be up by the end of our trip?

We were there last year 2013 from September 9-15. The Halloween decorations were up and very fun to see. But as @Amy Shelton listed in her cons...it is hot hot hot and humid humid humid. The low crowds make the heat more bearable. I found the parks to be very manageable during the week with crowds on the weekend...especially at the MK.
We also stayed at the WL which is quite lovely. Transportation was great and the boat ride to the MK or the CR was very convenient. Enjoy your planning and enjoy your trip. I hope it is Magical! :cat:

They will be up at the start of your trip  Bear in mind that MK is the only park that really decorates for fall, though Halloween merchandise will be in stores in all the parks.

We love going in September. Is it hot? Yes, but not so hot that we feel like we're melting. The heat also goes unnoticed a good portion of the time because you don't have to stand in line in the heat. Starting the week after labor day, the parks are not empty, but they almost feel that way. All lines are inside the buildings and don't use all the wrapping around areas. If you want to do the Halloween party, it's available and starting this year, at the end of September, so is food and wine.

Completely agree with this. And even though the park hours are on the shorter side, we still get to do everything and more that we want in the time given.

If you are not interested in the F&W festival go the week right BEFORE it starts. We practically had the park to yourselves - especially Epcot.

Yep, it was just us and the love bugs....:p

Low crowds might be its only perk. Heat + Peak hurricane season, always a potential.

I would stick with LATE October, but its always a roll of the dice, and i'm sure you can make the best of any situation.

Pros:
Most kids are in school, thus many parents and kids alike are at home, not WDW.
You get to see WDW during a time that is not traditionally a holiday season.

Cons:
It's still quite hot during September.
It's still hurricane season.
We still get frequent and strong thunderstorms in Florida.

September is a great time! It's our third September in a row.. Low crowds and wait time, mnsshp is taking place, the weather is beautiful (few afternoon rain showers).. We love it!

Just be advised, I believe the wilderness lodge pool is undergoing a refurb during your planned stay.

For us....

Pros:
Lower crowds than in October.

Cons:
Taking kids out of school. (In October our kids get 2 full weeks for Fall Break. No missed school.)
LOVEBUGS! Eww. They are everywhere.
