Hi guys!

Just wondering which month you think would be the best to go in this year. We're having trouble deciding and are waiting for AP rates. Last year there weren't any for September so questions are:

1. September or October and why?
2. In your informed opinion, do you think there will be AP rates in September this year?
3. Who's bored at work??? haha DOWN WITH MONDAYS!

I would say the end of Setp. Early Novermber. By then the major crowds will be gone and back in classes and such. It may not be quite as warm as the beginning of September, but it still will be beautiful.

Early October

September is the month that on average is the most prolific month for hurricanes. Less chance of having a couple of days of solid rain.

I can't predict anything about AP rates for Sept. However, there are some advantages and disadvantages to going in Sept vs. Oct.

Sept

Low crowds, but low park hours
Still summer like, but possibility of rain/tropical weather
Rehabs start in Sept.
Seasonal attractions are closed

That said, we always or almost always go in september. Park hours may be reduced, but it is so quiet we walk onto most attractions. Weather is iffy, but we're at WDW and we make the best of any weather. Some attractions like COP are closed, but going on Kali River Rapids 3x in a row without getting off or walking on to Kilimanjaro Safaris more than makes up for it.

October is busier at WDW due to The Food and Wine Festival at EPCOT and MNSSHP at MK. If you want to check either of those out then October would be a better month for you to go.Weather tends to be a little more bearable as well

Hope that helps even a little

We have gone the last two years in September...17-28 in 2002 and 19-30 in 2003. Low crowds both years...good weather but the seasonal things like COP werent open either year. This year we are going late sept into early oct to (hopefully) catch MNSSHP. Its a great time of year to go.

We enjoy going in October. Our schools have a fall break so our son doesn't miss any classes, the weather is great, and as mentioned you might be able to catch MNSSHP. Normally those dates are announced in May, as I recall. This will be our third October trip. 208 to go!

Agree. October is known for the best weather and the most beautiful nights too. :)

in 2001 we went sept 23 to the 27th and it was beautiful. It rained once a day for a half hour, but who cares right?

anyway, were planning our honeymoon for the 23rd to the 29th this year.

the lines were short (we walked onto everything but peter pan's flight!!!) and the shortened park hours didnt matter much to us because we just went over to Downtown Disney (but we also dont have any children, so we didnt have to worry).

We stayed at the Port Orleans: Riverside and our trip for the two of us including airfare, when all was said and done (food and souvineers) cost us about $1500. I think we had an $89 a night room rate as well.

Im keeping my fingers crossed for lower rates, however we want to book ASAP.

Thread drift:

Which would you choose for a honeymoon:

Beach Club Resort
or
Swan/Dolphin?

Supposedly i get a good discount if i stay at the Swan/Dolphin....

Do they do discounts for Honeymoons? (any of the disney resorts?)

Thanks for your help in advance (and sorry for the drift...)

Meega, nala kwishta!
We've been going in October the last few visits. Both the beginning and the end of the month.

We enjoy it very much. The crowds tend to be very low, with walk ons on most attractions.

The weather is usally very good. I think in the last 3 years of visiting, (24 total days), we've had maybe 2-3 days where it rained, and those were quick morning/afternoon showers that cleared up very quickly.

Pluse you can do MNSSHP and Food and Wine (and F&W starts the beginning of Oct this year).

There are two cons tho...

* Don't visit MK on Columbus Day weekend. Donwright packs those days.

* Hours are shorter, so some attractions are closed, or on limited hours.

I would recommend October any day!

Ok so it sounds like we'll be ok going in 25th to 9th October September right? What can we expect?

Also most importantly will the parks be doing Wishes and Illmuniations?

Went last year for 14 days on 1st September.

It was very quiet - we walked onto everything! It was great!

The only thing that was jam packed was spectromagic, but that's because it was the only showing for two weeks so everyone crammed in to see it (in my view poor planning by Disney).

Also planning my honeymoon at WDW, not going till Aug 2005 though so I am expecting busier crowds. *sigh* but at least this time we will be spending the full two weeks at Disney (with maybe a side visit to Universal just to ride the Mummy) so we should see it all and do it all :D

Yes, whenever there is a cause for a good atmosphere you get it - like for parades, people on rides, in shops and restaurants.

But you don't get the bad atmosphere... the woman having a go at her child because he is upset that he's waited over an hour to get onto Splash Mountain, the dirty seating areas because the CM's can't cope with the amount of people littering etc.

Trust me, you'll love it :animwink:
