Pre-Trip September Disneymoon PTR!

Hey everyone! I am busy busy planning our upcoming trip and our wedding! If you read my previous trip report you know that my fiancé and I got engaged on our last trip in September 2012! Our upcoming wedding is home in Halifax, Nova Scotia on Sept 21,2013. We will be leaving for our disneymoon on Sept 23!

We had originally planned to take our disneymoon in November, but free dining was released, and Marc (fiancé) suggested we go then! He didn't have to twist my harm to hard to change plans! So I booked us for Sept 23-Oct 4! Of course the ADRs had already been open for these dates, but I was able to score everything we wanted except for BOG, oh well.

We will be staying at Port Orleans French Quarter, we stayed here last time and fell in love! I have previously stayed at ASMO, ASMU and CBR...to me they don't even compare to POFQ!

Our trip in September was Marc's first trip, and as hesitant as he was (thought it was for kids before we went)..he fell in love with disney and is overly excited for our next trip! He has already made comments about "what if there is an awesome bounce back offer??" Lol!

Per-trip Report!

Day 1- flights not booked yet, but we will be attempting to arrive as early as possible. Last year we arrived around lunch time and that would be ideal again! Once we get settled at PoFq we will head to DTD and then on to Boma for dinner at 5:50pm. This was where we had our first dinner last year, we really enjoyed it and hope to start a tradition.

Day 2- we will begin the day with 9:15 reservations at Crystal Palace. We are going to keep our eyes open for earlier ADRs so we can get in the park before opening. We have never dined here before and are looking forward to it! We will spend the day in the magic kingdom. The new fantasy land has opened since our last visit. Probably head back to the resort for a swim mid afternoon. No plans for the evening (still debating MNSSHP).

Day 3- no rush this morning, head to Epcot. Walk to beaches and cream for lunch. Then spend the day exploring. We have dinner reservations at Tappen Edo at 7:40, also never dined here before! Then EMH at Epcot that night!

Day 4- breakfast ADRs at Tusker house, also a favourite from our last trip. ADR for 9:15, park opens at 9.. So going to keep our eyes out for earlier to come available! Send the day at animal kingdom, a favourite of ours, not ride wise but just watching the animals. We also have dinner reservations for 7:50pm at Flying Fish tonight, something new for us! We plan to maybe go mini golfing after or just explore the boardwalk.

Day 5- studios day! ADR at 50's for 1:25pm. I have been there before, but its new to Marc! This was his pick for wanting to try this trip. No evening plans...

Day 6- typhoon lagoon is our pick of water park! We did not do any water parks last trip. Send the day here, dinner at boatwrights at our resort, maybe a carriage ride, and catch the evening movie. A low key day!

Day 7- no plans today! Maybe off site (sea world or universal?). Evening EMH at DHS. Catch fantasmic! No ADRs today!

Day 8- no plans again..maybe off site to do some shopping. Dinner ADR at Garden Grill in Epcot at 5:50pm, then hop the monorail to magic kingdom for evening EMH! Tis was the last ADR I made.. We had one credit left that I was unsure what to do with since I knew I needed something with easy access to MK for EMH, and since we are already dining at LTT and crystal palace..and everything close by was super late dining times that we would give garden grill a shot.. I ate there a few years ago and really enjoyed it.

Day 9- this day is also open, until dinner.. We have 6:15adr at T-Rex. We will be meeting my aunt, uncle and cousins for dinner (they are starting there 10 day vacation this day! ) we will part ways then Marc and I will go to cirque!

Day 10- today is devoted to the food and wine festival! We will explore world showcase all day, trying diffrent treats! We also booked Disney Food Blogs Snack Attack! Really looking forward to all the sweets and viewing of illuminations!!

Day 11- EmH at MK.. Arrive early! Watch opening show and we have lunch ADRs at Liberty Tree Tavern.. We enjoyed supper here last time and am looking forward to lunch and the oooey gooey toffee cake!

Day 12- departure day :(

First off CONGRATULATIONS! on your engagement and upcoming wedding, how exciting! :)
Your ADRs all sound so yummy! My mom and I ate at Teppan Edo this past January and let me just say.. IT WAS DELICIOUS! You guys will love it! We have a very good hibachi grill back here in Chicago, but I still loved Teppan just as much! I also can't wait to see your food pictures of the LTT toffee cake! Whenever I have been there it has always been for dinner and they don't have that dessert for dinner!
Can't wait to read the TR!
HAPPY PLANNING! :D

marcs mom is actually going to make this cake for us (while my nanny is baking the actual cake and marcs mom will be decorating it, except with purple instead of brown), my dad was recently in disney and picked me up mickey and minnie cake toppers (well, they are actually salt and pepper shakers, but they will do the trick)...the cake has really been stressing me out, marcs cousin (whom is a baker) was very interested in making our cake and offered to do so around christmas time..well now she is not answering my emails and the one response i got was that this cake may not be for her, so in 10 days of no response to my emails..we found someone else who is close family so the cake will mean so much more to us :)

finally i am hoping to get these shirts made for our honeymoon :)

we are super excited for everything, i am really hoping for either free dining or room discounts to be extended so we can do a split stay between pofq and a deluxe, i am thinking the wilderness lodge or poly..but of course we would need a discount to make that possible! if it dosnt happen we will still have a great time, pofq is a beautiful resort and we are in disney!!

CONGRATS!! A disneymoon, I'm so jealous, but cannot wait for a full report back!! Keep trying for BOG, some things open up!
Thanks ! We have seen some negative reviews of bog, I'll keep checking but debating on if its worth cancelling one of our other ADRs for!

Made a little change today! We cancelled our Garden Grill reservation, I was feeling it was to many character meals for one trip (it would of been our third), so I seen WCC had a 5:15 open the same day, we booked it planning on taking the boat to MK for EMH after :). There was a little issue, where I booked 5:15 and on my end the confirmation email confirmed this, but on the my disney experiance app it was confirming 8:15. After a call with disney (who also had the 8:15 time) all was worked out and they got us in at 5:15. He noted there was a lot of issues with this system lately.. When we cancelled garden grill we cancelled our 5:15, well on disneys end it was for 2:50.. Makes no sense! I can forsake a lot of issues when people show up for there reservations in coming months...

Well, if you were going in Mid August, I would certainly advise you to cancel your BOG reservation, and private message me the time and date so I can snatch it up!

But...since you are going in Sept...yeah, keep it! Reviews be darned...

No luck getting BOG, but ill keep checking, but I'm not as upset as I thought I would be (maybe so many negative/neutral , reviews). 81 days to go, we are getting very excited! A few things I still need to do tho:- add watermarks + option, rent car for 3 days, buy cirque tickets and buy Airfare!

Thanks! The invitations were really easy to do,we scored a great deal at michales, the kit was marked down to 9.99, regular 54.99! It includes a template for the font and then we just added the Mickey heads :). When is your disneymoon?

Myself, my husband and 3 year son will be heading down to Disney from Halifax around the same time. We are flying out either the 19th or 20th (no flights booked yet either). We stay one night at the Beach Club and then we are doing 7 nights on the Fantasy but then we will be staying at POFQ when we return back. So far I've found the best flights were through United but we haven't booked yet because we weren't sure of our exact return date yet. Unfortunately not many cheap options from Halifax :(

Congratulations on your upcoming wedding, that is so exciting !! I love that you are getting married at Hatfield Farm, that is such a fun place to have it and September is the best time to get married (we too got married at the end of September) - the weather is almost always perfect.

Thats exciting! Maybe we will see you around the resort in our last few days! We loved POFQ last year :) Also looking forward to the food and wine!

Last year we were able to book for $480pp, down on delta back on united.. this year is pushing well over 500, almost 600 return. We to have looked at united, and also Us airways. We like the flight times of Us a bite more, and may pay more so we can arrive earlier and leave later. United wouldnt get us there until around 3pm and leave around 2pm. US will have us there by lunch and they have a 5pm departure. We also looked at air canada (trying to avoid) we like to clear customs in halifax. and Westjet, but wow, they are well over 600 return, almost 700 even with the promo code they have on right now!

The trip is becoming more real! We booked airfare today. We will leave halifax at 7am on us airways arriving in Orlando at 12:40 pm (connecting in Philly) and on departure day we will not depart Orlando until 5pm. I had been eyeing this later flight but it was always more expensive, well today it dropped by $35, I haven't seen it any lower en this so we booked! Now just need to call DME and have this applied! I have never flew us, usually a united family (while continental, but since they merged).. But the flight times sucked, wouldn't arrive until late afternoon, and well that's precious disney time!
I also need to put in a room request, we were in building 5/corner room last time and it was great!

Finalizing up some plans! We decided to book o'hana for breakfasts at 10:25am on our last day! We need to cancel our dinner at whispering canyon to so, but that's okay because the day we have our WCC ADRs we were planning on going to universal, this way we don't need to rush back for 5pm, and can just goto the MK for EMH :)
