Orange County Sherrif's Dept is *ALWAYS* on property, 24/7/365. They tend to stay hidden until needed... as to not get in the way of the Magic... but they are there, and I have had to take use of them. You'd be amazed at how some people can get when they can't get that front cab. *shrug*

At any rate, if you really want to see them, go to PI some night... you'll always find them there. :)

Now they also have security guards checking bags at the entrances to the parks. It's comforting to know their increasing security, but it makes the line to get into the park longer. Its a shame that they have to take such precautions at a place as magical as WDW.:(

undcover secrurity guards in Disney are called fox's. Tey dress up in regular close and pretty much monitor all going's about in the park, especially the shops. They are all highly trained and, really good at picking up shop lifters. I'm pretty sure the website www.hiddenmickeys.org hasa whole section you can read about disney's security. Also, disneys sedcurity monitors the CM's allot and does random spot checks and intergotions with CM's, i heard from a friend they can be very intimidating towards CM's.

We had a run in with one of those guys..
They are scary..One of my friends bought some candy, and instead of getting a bag, she just put it in my cargo pant's pocket..When we left the store, this very creepy guy came up and started asking us about it..He had this unflinching, very wide, and fake grin..It was quite scary..Not so much that he THOUGHT we were stealing, just that this guy kept grinning at us, I felt like he was gonna eat us or something..Luckily, we had the receipt...But then he left with a..
"We're always watching..." and grinned and left..It pretty much killed the magic and left in it's place a large mass of paranoia

A few years back, we were watching the afternoon parage at the MK on a VERY hot day. A minor altercation between two nearby overheated guests began, and before you could say "Walt Disney," it seemed like half the crowd was flashing Disney name tags. They courteously but RAPIDLY escorted the guys right away; I was very impressed by their efficiency. (I was also impressed by their sheer numbers...)
