Pre-Trip Second Trip, First Report!

Hey there guys! As I impatiently await my trip back to Disney World I have been reading a lot of your trip reports. I love reading them and I love writing and talking about Disney so I figured I would give it a go as well.

Last Trip:
I took my first trip to Disney world toward the end of May 2014 with some of my family. We stayed at the Caribbean Beach Resort. I was not exactly wowed by this hotel. We had two rooms. The room I stayed in was missing the mini fridge...the other room was missing their remote and it took several calls to get them to actually bring one. The room was clean. The beds were comfy. It was like an ice box in our room, which two out of three of us loved. We couldn't get the ac to not be so cold though, but it was perfect for me. :D We were only there for three and a half days. The day we arrived, three more days, then we left. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't a good trip. Lets just say we were the ultimate Disney World Newbies and didn't know how to use things like Fastpasses (never used a single one. The only bad wait was my sister and I waiting for 7DMT though. So Disney can be done with out fastpasses) We always did Dining Reservations the morning off and got all the places we wanted at the time. Crystal palace, Hollywood and Vine. We did a deluxe dining plan which was way more than we needed. Thought we were basically limited to mickey ice cream bars and the popcorn/bags of chips snacks. We were so short on time we tried to pack the days and didn't let the small children properly rest so they got cranky, parents got cranky, everyone else got cranky. Add in that I was dealing with mysterious health issues (turned out to be toxic mold in my wall from a leaky roof. So I was actually feeling better out of my house, but not 100%) along with recovering from hand, foot, mouth disease. While I was well past the contagious part, I had to deal with blisters on the bottom of my feet the entire time. We had fun, but had we actually looked into things it could have been better.

Coming Trip:
Dates:
May 5th through May 12th
Resort: All Star Movies, requested preferred Toy Story room. Super excited about this resort! Value or not, the theme of it is amazing and it's just going to feel Disney-ish the entire time. (Caribbean was pretty, but didn't feel as in your face Disney as this one will.) I am a huge 101 Dalmatians lover and we have three in our party obsessed with Toy Story right now.
Dining Plan: Disney Dining Plan
Plans: (I don't have all the plans just yet. I will be getting an update on this hopefully Monday night and will be able to update you guys Tuesday night.) We also aren't big planners. May 10th: (Most likely Hollywood Studios)
No plans at all for this day as of yet, but will probably be Hollywood Studios and therefore Fantasmic.

May 11th:
No plans as of yet, but it is our last day so it will include downtown disney and swimming at the resort again.

May 12th:
We leave bright and early. We find it best to get super early flights because then we all just sleep the entire flight home.

My Goals for this Trip:
~New and more Disney pictures of myself now that I am feeling better and looking better.
~Get a blue refillable mug from the resort
-Buy better, more amazing snacks
-Eat tons of food. :D
-See Fantasmic, Illuminations, and the water pageant
-Ride Peter Pan, Little Mermaid, and Kali River Rapids
-Collect a new giraffe item
-Purchase a Lady and a Dumbo stuffed baby (The ones that are wrapped in blankets.)
-Not spend all my money on stuffed animals this time.
-Purchase pet items for my three fur babies

At some point later I will be adding a "Meet the Group" post so you can get to know us a bit. Hope I do a good job and you all enjoy!

Here is a terrible picture of me. I apparently don't have any decent pictures of my self and none Disney themed, but oh well. My name is Emily, but I typically go by Emmie within this group of people. I am currently 20, but I will be 21 by the time we leave. I don't like talking about myself and don't really know what to say. This wait is probably killing me the most though. I have been doing all the research this time and well...I may be a little obsessed with planning. I may or may not have packed most of my stuff already...;). Random little facts I guess. My favorite movies are Lady and The Tramp, Bambi, and 101 Dalmatians (the cartoon one). I don't know...I just love Disney! Moving on now..

This is my sister, Amber, who we all call Ber because that is what Brooklyn has been calling her since she could talk. She is 30 years old and she is quite short, makes her look like she is 13. Eeyore there is her favorite Disney character. She is Nanna's ride buddy when we are riding with the kiddos and she is also the one who will probably be resort hopping with me as well as going to some of the shows and staying in the parks longer. She is also a photographer and will be taking quite a few of the pretty pictures that will be in the trip report. :)
Brooklyn

Here is Miss Brooklyn, my niece who is four, but will be turning five just a few days after we get home from our trip. She is the loud, energetic one of the group for sure. She is also the one who enjoys rides the most and therefore she is my little ride buddy. Thankfully she isn't so little and has hit that 44in. mark that gets her on most of the rides this time. She would do any and every ride if they let her. (Thanks Disney for not having any major thrill rides she can drag me on)! :D She isn't really a movie watcher, but she loves her Mickey crew and her Frozen. She also has a thing for Toy Story.
Nanna

This here is Julianna, who goes by Nanna (Think Anna from Frozen with an N in front of her name if you want the right pronunciation), She just turned 3 in December. She is the little diva and the little mommy. She plays little mommy to everyone, especially her older sister, which comes in handy when Brooklyn gets into one of her little moods. Nanna does a good job of calming her down. She has been so much into Disney movies these past few months there is no doubt that this trip will be extra special for her. She is also currently obsessed with Toy Story and Buzz Lightyear. She is more into the character meetings and softer/slower rides, but we are going to take her on her first "roller coaster". (7DMT, but really, there is no way she could handle a real roller coaster)
Kristy and Jeff

I won't be posting a picture of these two because I don't feel like getting killed by them. Anyway, Kristy is my oldest sister and Jeff is her husband, my brother in law. These two are the ones who have made both of these Disney Trips possible. These trips only cost my other sister and I $500. They pay the rest as Christmas and Birthday gifts. So big thanks to them for being amazing. You probably won't see any pictures of Kristy, maybe some of Jeff. Not sure how much he will be doing as he just had back surgery in December. They have been to Disney three times as they had their honeymoon in Disney.

Mae (Possibly)

Mae is my aunt who went along with us last time. She isn't a rider, but did some like Winnie the Pooh and Nemo. Mostly she took care of the kiddos and our things when we were riding stuff that one or both were too small to ride on or she stayed if one or both were napping. Not sure if she is going with us this time or not, but you won't see a single picture of her either. She's very anti cameras.

Anyways that is the end of the little introductions. Hope you enjoyed and will enjoy our trip report when we get back!

Looks like a good plan. As an obsessive planner myself, I agree the waiting is brutal. My daughters favorite animal is a giraffe, and always is on the look out for cool items. We found some unique giraffe stuff at Animal Kingdom Lodge. Have a wonderful trip.

Oooh!! I will definitely have to add that to my must do list for one of the days then. I found some actually in animal kingdom I got last time and rainforest cafe had a big stuffed one for a really good price. It was weird. The small one I picked up first thinking would be cheapest was nearly the same price as the big one. Can't wait to look there!

Looks like great plans! We're not really that kind of planners, more going with the flow, but for our next Ocotber trip we will plan some more than the earlier trip! We originally booked also the stay in All Star Movies but we upgraded to POFQ :) Enjoy the pre feelings, although yours are much shorter than ours :)

Thanks everyone and I hope all of you enjoy your trips as well!

So we are 27 days and a couple hours out from our trip. I am going crazy here. Finally managed to get all the new summer clothes I needed for the trip and unintentionally ended up with outfits that are all Disney themed in one way or another. Suitcase is packed since I won't be needing summer clothes up here in New York anytime soon. I'd just like to point out how amazing the compression bags are for saving space. I am weird and very particular about my sleep setting. I need to have a fan, which I bought a nice travel one for the trip last year, and I have to have my own blankets. I know Disney blankets are clean, but I can't sleep with blankets that aren't mine. Those bags made it so all my stuff fits in one suitcase with room for whatever I buy. Those bags are the best $10 investment I ever made. Just playing the waiting game now, but here are a couple little and one not so little update.

Update 1: We scored fast passes for Peter Pan and also finally got to do our Hollywood Studios ones. We got Toy Story Mania and then we just did ones for the Frozen show and the Disney Junior show. We aren't big fans of Tower of Terror or Rockin' Roller Coaster so we just didn't bother with those. I can't even remember what day it was. Oh well, it will be a surprise.

Update 2: I believe that we are trying to get a breakfast reservation for BOG or my sister may have gotten one that she is keeping secret. I am not quite sure, but fingers crossed. If not this trip then next time for sure.

Update 3: My aunt is no longer joining us at the start of the trip. Her and my mom will be flying down Friday morning. She decided last minute she didn't want to stay the whole eight days, but we didn't want the tickets to go to waste so they are being split up between the two of them and then we are just buying the extra one we'd need for them. My sister called and they have been added to all our reservations and everything, so at least it is all sorted out on the Disney end, even if things are kinda crazy here. xD

This will be my mom's first Disney trip! Dad will be staying home to look after the fur babies this time around, but we are planning a trip for just my parents, my middle sister, and me for September/November of 2016. Any tips on that? We are hoping for free dining, if not it is no big deal, but it would be nice to save the money. September seems to be less crowded than November, is this really the case? We won't be going during the Thanksgiving break time, that is for sure. But then November has all the pretty Christmas stuff and the option of the Christmas party, right? Decisions, Decisions.

Speaking of the above mentioned fur babies. Does anyone know the best place to find something special for two dogs and a kitty? They are little and do enjoy being dressed up. Do they have any clothing items for them? Toys are good too obviously. Last time I couldn't find anything anywhere, but we did notice there was a kiosk in DTD that wasn't open when we went that had pet items. Is that still there? Also Basin, does anyone know if they sell there Fluffy Pet Soap in the store there?

Basin. I can't wait for this store. Is that weird? To be super excited about a bath store in Disney? Yeah it's weird, but it's all good. I get excited over the strangest of things Disney has to offer.

Anyway, going to stop rambling now. Hope everyone has a lovely day!

Great update for the upcoming trip. The compression bags you are talking about, don't you need a vacuum to compress the bag and contents? If so how do you compress them for the trip home? If you don't need a vacuum can you give the link to these bags that you use, really interested in them? Following along.

Actually I found some that you don't need a vacuum for and it was one the most exciting discoveries I have made. These ones have a little valve at the bottom of the bag and all you do is fill them, then start rolling them from the top and the air goes out the valve at the bottom. Really easy to do and works really well. http://www.walmart.com/ip/Protege-Compression-Bags-4pk/17472588 These ones. They had them at all the super walmarts around here next to the suitcases since they say they are out of stock online. Though I am sure you can find them other places as well.

I am also curious what ADR's you are wanting!

Thanks for following along guys!

Oh and I forgot to mention. All our special things have either arrived or shipped. We got out ME tags the other day along with a booklet that came with two admission tickets to Disney Quest and a card to use for discounts at stores in DTD. One of those being 10% off entire purchase at Basin. :D

Also Magic Bands shipped yesterday so I am hopping to get mine on Tuesday when I am at my sisters so I can start decorating it. I have all my pictures picked out, just have to order the temporary tattoo paper and get some colored ink for the printer. I will post a picture when it is all done!

Plans look great! My family & I will be at the MK on the 6th too! We're also staying at All-stars but, Sports. My younger daughter & I got out-voted on Movies!:( Have a great trip & maybe we'll see you there!

Awesome about Magic Kingdom, but not so awesome on the hotel. Sports actually looked pretty cool too, but the only sport we actually enjoy is featured at All Star Movies anyway. My sister and I, and my two little nieces are all big on hockey.

If you are going to Animal Kingdom Lodge for giraffe stuff I recommend going on May 7 and then eating dinner at Boma. You will be at AK that day and need to eat dinner somewhere so it's a two birds with one stone kind of thing.
By the way, I LOVE that you are staying at Movies. We are going May 20 and requested the Toy Story section at our "home" resort. You will love it.

I am so excited to see Nanna's face especially when she sees the giant Buzz statue. She has been so obsessed with him, constantly pretending to be him. It's crazy cute. Toy Story is also Ber's favorite. I like it, but I am more excited for the 101 Dalmatians ones. xD My friend and I are hoping to stay in that one when we go together.

Also will have to look into Boma. We have some very picky eaters in the group and what they are picky on is entirely different.

Maybe Boma isn't best bet for picky eaters. Are you familiar with the Toy Story section a Movies? If not, check out some youtube videos so maybe you can request special areas to get your room where the girls might want to be.

I actually think my brother in law and little Nanna would love it. They are the least picky of the group. The rest of us would have to make do with eating from the kids section. xD We did check some stuff out, but now we are just taking whatever they give us due to having to get a room for my mom and aunt later in the trip. When my sister called yesterday we were told that the six of us going on the 5th would be in connecting rooms. Then my mom and aunt will be in a room next to or at least very close to ours. I'm just happy I get my own big bed for the trip as I am currently sleeping on a couch with my dog while my room is slowly being renovated.
