SeaWorld Starts Demolition Along Lakefront
ORLANDO (Orlando Sentinel) -- Orange County has given the go-ahead for SeaWorld’s planned restaurant and retail project along its lakefront. Demolition work is already under way. SeaWorld this summer filed plans for a pair of restaurants, four shops and a bar in the shape of a stone fort around the base of the park’s Sky Tower. Unlike other buildings in the park, which are a mishmash of styles, each of the buildings in the lakefront project will be built in a vaguely Mediterranean style that officials say will suggest a centuries-old seaport. SeaWorld hopes to finish the project by summer.
