Net income ballooned 30 percent from the same period a year ago, jumping from $92 million to $120 million. Total revenue rose 3 percent to $538 million.

  • 3Q Rev $538.4M, net $120.2M, eps actual $1.33 vs estimated of $1.18. Beat the street by 0.15. Awesome job!!!
The company, which owns 11 parks across the U.S., said its SeaWorld-branded marine parks in Orlando, San Diego and San Antonio drove the growth.

I have been at work so have not had a chance to lsiten to the conference call. Looking forward to hearing what they have to say

Good thing they're milking each clueless tourist for more money. Attendance fell 3.6 percent and will continue to fall. Fact. Whether it's due to public disgust of their treatment of cetacea or their lame penguin ride is the only debate.

If you read the report attendance at all three Seaworld parks are up and up at record numbers. There is 11 parks in Seaworld's chain and the overall attendance numbers are for all parks together. And Antarctica is not lame at all. I love it and so does most others. He said in the conference call last night that guest satisfaction numbers are huge for the attraction and they are very happy with it.

SeaWorld also said within the next 12 - 24 months new parks may be announced. They have great interest in expanding. Wow really sounds like a company that is hurting don’t it??

Also attendance is not continuing to fall. Its improving. Lsiten to the facts. Its improved over last quarter and October was on par with last year and so far november is up compared to alst year. Its only going to get better my friend.

Let's be real. The SeaWorld parks bring in the lions share of attendance for the company. The attendance numbers are not being dragged down from the other parks. SeaWorld guests are dropping. And no, it is not improving, it's just getting worse at a slower rate. This quarters numbers are still down from last year, just not as bad as last quarter.
Oh and the penguin ride has been universally panned. It is ranked (by reviews of the GUESTS) #136 out of 183 attractions in Orlando, just behind the Pirates dinner adventure.:hilarious:
SeaWorld is lucky they can still find silly people who think it's worth the same price as a Uni or Disney park. They may benefit from further squeezing their visitors wallets in the short term, but I expect Blackstone to sell while they can still make a profit from the purchase before it really falls apart.

You know nothing for fact. You dont visit the parks like I do everyday. You take what you read off the internet as fact which its not. SeaWorld attendance is surging and will continue to do so especailly now that the very popular Christmas Celebration event is coming and with the 50th Anniversary next year huge numbers are coming in.

How do you explain over flow parking lots being used and shows full due to capacity. SeaWorld Orlando attendance is in record territory for the year.

Antartica constantly has wait times 45 - 60 mins everyday. And anyone who has a negative expereince is more likely to review soemthing then the guests who have had positive expereince. Thats a fact. So the standing at 136. no big deal. I dont even know where you got your numbers at so my positive review is not there. And my friends who love it there reviews are not there as well.

As for Blackstone selling there is no indications thats happening however I have heard that the Busch Family wants to buy the parks back. I hope that happens. THat would be a dream coem true.

You just dont want to face the fact that SeaWorld is doing just fine.

Are they still offering $50 weekday admission to lure people in?

If attendance has fallen, it isn't noticeable in the park (or in the parking lots, as was pointed out.)

I am visiting this December and have noticed over the past few years that over 3/4 of the parking lot has been filled each visit. we arrive about 10am each day. I have not yet to experience Antarctica the ride because the wait for the line is always 100+ mins. All other major rides also have had 20-40min wait times. Despite the issues that have pooped up for them in the past, they are pushing through, building attractions, and listening to the customer and helping out the environment. If i remember correctly i believe Disney might be doing 1 of them.
