SeaWorld brings back "Dine with Shamu" show
Jan 15, 2011
After a year off, SeaWorld plans to bring back its "Dine with Shamu" killer whale show. The show came to a halt after a whale was involved in the death of a trainer shortly after one of the shows in February of last year. The show will resume February 26 at SeaWorld San Antonio and sometime this spring in Orlando and San Diego. The show allowed guests to enjoy a buffet meal while trainers worked with the whales in nearby tanks. According to an article from the Associated Press, a SeaWorld representative said that Tilikum (the whale involved in the incident) will not be used in the show now, but may be in the future. Safety equipment has been added to the pools as a further protection to both guests and the trainers.
