hello all,

im a dcp alumni and finished my program may 2013. im currently living in NY and applied for a seasonal position at wdw. i got in person interview so i am flying down this weekend for it. i was wondering if anyone knew when they would expect you to begin working if offered the position. i work on a teachers schedule so i have off the summers/holidays so i wont be able to begin until the end of june. would they expect me to begin training right away or would they let me wait until the end of june to do that. also, since i completed traditions about a year ago would they make me do that again? thanks for any help!

you will have to go to traditions again. and the one day of area specific training then actual training. You are more then 6 months from last work date so all proficiencies are now expired. no idea on when they would want you as I do not know the job but since you are coming as seasonal I would guess they will work with you on dates.

I worked in entertainment in my CP and I applied for the food/beverage hostess position for seasonal. I figured I would need traditions again and obviously training. I'm just hoping that they will allow me to start traditions and training when I finish my job in NY because I heard a few things that they made people start right away. Thank you for your reply!

It's definitely something to bring up with your interviewer during the interview. Seasonal submit their availability and as long as you meet the caps (150 hours over a rolling 12 month period checked every quarter) then you will be fine. If you're not available until a certain date you should be ok but you never know so it's always good to double check. Usually seasonal recs are opened up during the particular departments busy season (ex. Summer for F&B) so you will likely be alright. If you want a more concrete answer before you head down to Orlando you can always call the casting line and ask them. Good luck with the interview!
