Let me start off by saying that I love my job & I love working for Disney. It's truly one of my absolute favorite jobs I've ever had. The only thing I don't like about my job is screening. Much like playing Spades, I'm good at it, but I hate it.
I currently work in Security. In November of '23, I was wrongfully separated from the company. In May 2024, thanks to the union, I was reinstated & got to keep my seniority, but there were additional strings attached that I won't mention. The biggest issue I have is that I am restricted to screening for a year & can't bid out of it or pick up any non-screning shifts. I wasn't told about that part (by ANY of the union reps I talked to) until the day the settlement paperwork was in front of me. I felt pressured to sign it because I had already started back to work (I was in the middle of a shift when they called me into the office. What was i gonna do, not sign it & get fired again?). The company was wrong to fire me to begin, but I'm still being punished for THIER mistake?! If I quit, wait 6 months & come back, technically it's a rehire & the settlement (& the restrictions) should no longer apply. My question is: If I do that, will I keep my seniority or will I have to start all over?
