Screamscape mentioned that apparently "a member of the LMA crew let it leak out that about one year from now that they will be performing their final shows before the venue is shut down".

I decided to post this despite the fact I think Screamscape is as unreliable as a Disney Bus Driver, or Disney cast members for rumors.

I want this thread to be open since it doesn't have a poll.

My own take is I think the timeline might be correct if there are more sources to back Screamscapes timeline. The problem I got is screamscape mentioned "Apparent LMA Crew Member" since there is no way to tell if the person is actually a crew member of LMA.

It would be all too easy for LMA cast members to just have seen the same rumors we have this past weekend, and then speculate how long their jobs are safe. Seriously, we all know how unreliable CM information on rumors is anyway, why would this be any different. It does seem certain at this point LMA is going away, of course.

Interesting. So now 2014 they will close LMA to begin prep work? It's starting to look like we may not see the DHS expansion this decade...
There are parts that could begin before LMA closes, but nothing has actually be solidified yet, so in terms of the overall process Disney has to go through, it seems perfectly reasonable for it to take at least a year for actual construction to begin. After that, they could have this start opening rather quickly if they prefer (2016/2017). That's a big IF, of course.

A bus driver told me the Muppets spinner and water play area will open in 2018.
The Star Wars restaurant and value engineered Carsland will open for the holidays 2019.
And the Monsters Inc kiddie coaster will open about two years after that once they scrap the elaborate meet and greets that were originally planned.

If construction plans are truly in the works for DHS, it will be interesting to see how serious the folks in Burbank will be about completing the project and opening the new attractions. As has been mentioned, they could push for much to be finished in two years or less.

If we say that this is true, that would put LMA (and more than likely the Backlot Tour, although I would guess that that could close earlier because it is further back) closing around June 2014.

If that is the case, then I would guess that Disney would want to squeeze out one more Osborne Lights ($$$$$$) for Christmas 2014, and then they could close the Streets of America January 2015.

Just trying to look for the positives if this does happen - we've got a trip booked for November/December 2014 to see the Osborne Lights!

it will be interesting indeed... if Disney Springs is any indication of what's the come... honestly, I'm excited. I think Disney Springs will be a bigger hit and a great destination to visit while at Disney on vacation than most think around here

The question I have is if this was the operations CMs dealing with seating the guests or the actual stunt crew.

The way Lance worded the post it sounds like the stunt crew, who would indeed know what the plan was moving forward.

I have issues with the way it was worded.

I cannot tell if he means that the LMA source said the show will be ending in a year (from now, 2014) or said that a year ago that the show would be ending which would be soon. I'm pretty sure he meant the former, but add an inability to write clear sentences to the gripes with Screamscape.

Considering they just renewed LMA stunt drivers contracts, I would have to say this is false....and I know people at LMA and no one has been told anything about it changing or even closing.

If that's true, I don't think that's a sign of much of anything. Pretty much all of the contracts have outs (x amount of notice, x amount of payment etc).

I mean LMA ending in a year (2014).
