Scrap Avatar and build....

First, I must say that I am impartial about the Avatar expansion for AK. I'll wait to see how it turns out before reaming on Disney for it. I loved the movie and it kills on my 60" 3D Plasma but I'm not sure how "real" even Disney and Cameron can make Pandora look in Florida.

What would you rather see them spend that money on? (Yes, we know they have many, many, many repairs to make so that cannot be a choice)

I might prefer to see them make the Fire Mountain idea they tossed around. Put it right where Tom Sawyer's Island is now.

I'd add to Animal Kingdom by using classic Disney films. Add a Jungle Book water ride going past the main sets. I'd also beef up the entertainment budget so they don't keep cutting the characters.
In Hollywood Studios, I'd remove the Backlot (severely cut it) and expand Pixar Place.
Not new ideas, just showing what I'd like to see :)

I am looking forward to Avatar though, simply because the visuals are amazing. I'd love to see the floating mountains and the glow in the dark plants.

I hadn't even thought of Pixar Place. The Backlot Tour would be a perfect place for the Monster's Inc coaster or even appropriate some more land there and give us the Cars Land ride in that spot. Not the whole Card Land, just the Radiator Springs Racers.

Anything ride from the Pixar portfolio would be good imo. Imagine an attraction for UP, I can see it being mostly screens, or basically you're in the house looking out over the jungle and Paradise Falls - that would be suited for Animal Kingdom, if you made a tie in to nature. I just feel that Backlot is a waste of space, especially the beginning. Pearl Harbour? Really? Despite only going to Florida three times, I skipped it last time, simply because it wasn't worth my time.

The only reason Pearl Harbor is there is because it was such a huge non-scifi special effects movie. And it was easier for Disney to be able to "present" how they make those effects. I do think that the attraction is now outdated and with its close proximity to Pixar Place, should probably go the way of the Dodo and make room for a PP expansion.

OH! And move Pizza Planet to PP and turn the existing building into a Muppets themed restaurant.

I'll be honest, haven't watched Pearl Harbour... but I guess that makes sense. Maybe split the Backlot so they have a "special effects" area, which encompasses Catastrophe Cannon and other "how do they do that" scenes, and cut out the others and move them to the gift shop area at the end. Then the rest can be part of PP. Also change Honey I shrunk the Kids to Bugs Life and you've got a decent expansion area. Then they can pay attention to the AI/Drew Carey area.

I do like Hollywood Studios, but they really need to address its problems. I don't want to come back every five years and find that nothings changed.
