Scrambled Cell Phone Signals

I've heard that you can't receive or send cell phone calls while on attractions at WDW, that WDW scrambles the signals so that it doesn't mess with the integrity of the ride. I would never be that rude to try it, but does anyone else know if this is true or not.

I know that is not true. A few years ago I was on the TTA and this rude person in the cab in front carried on a cell-phone convesation during the entire ride.

I didn't think it was true either. Fortunately, I've never been on a ride where someone was talking on their phone the whole time.

 I'm going to have to do that. On a ride where there isn't any people, anyway.

It's not true. If Disney (or anyone else) tried such a thing they would be in MAJOR trouble with the FCC. Blocking signals is very illegal.

Disney does not block signals... HOWEVER... there are no cell phone towers on property... and if you're inside a heavily insulated ride building (or resort), the signal might be too weak to get a connection.

I only wish they could block it. I was on ToT the other day, and someone had the nerve to hold a LOUD (and pointless) conversation throughout the entire preshow. If it were important, I could give a lil leeway... but it was just random BS... Argh... *sigh*
