Alright so Im set to leave the College Program's Summer Alumni on August 10th. My Chatham ID says expires 8/9/07, which is at midnight that night and I must be outies by 8/10/07 at 11 AM. Ok so Im looking at my last weeks scheduled and what is this, Im wokring ToonTown on 8/11/07, now I have heard of working on your last day fine (8/10). But 8/11 is 24 hours after I am out of Chatham. What am I going to do? I tried to find my Stands East Manager and low and behold today is the day I find a Stands West Manager who doesn't even know me. Any insight?

They screwed up... pure and simple.

Even working the last day is insane. I am not going to stick around without a bed. My flight will be that day.

How can your manager not even know you? Don't you have a contact number for your CP liaison and/or homeroom manager?

I didn't get one of those cool little contact cards as I am an Alumni, who didn;t have to Traditions, or even a property tour. I have asked for certain numbers and I get a I'll get back to type of dealy. Really this summer has been nothing but a whirlwind of Disney blunder. Im going to have a nice long blog about this whole summer when I get home home (Roommates, the evidence that the Alumni Program was brought together in about a week, and the poor excuse for training that was given to me.) Im really feeling that I shouldn't have even bothered to come, and that is really sad being I have been such a hardcore Disneyfreak. There is a listing of all the CPs, ICPs and SACPs and who their homeroom managers are and well they spelt my name wrong, I have mentioned it but I guess with 2 weeks lefts its only a moo point. This scheduling mess up just drove that last nail in the coffin.

Please don't get me wrong, I have enjoyed myself emensly but seriously, I feel as I am just another victim of the Cheap Labor Syndrome. My last program beats this one ten fold. I have met some really cool people and there are some I really wouldn't mind if I never met. Iv'e tried to be more positive about this experience but there's always a negative that plows into it.

I can totally relate--my thoughts exactly! I didn't know how to put it. I didn't hate my experience at all, but there were less than ideal moments. And I empathize with how you feel about people; I thought I was the only one!

They surely screwed up. See if you can find the number for the scheduling office on the hub or something.

I participated in the Alumni Program last summer and my experience was quite similar. You can PM me if you need to vent! :)

Use the Labor module on the HUB to make a request, or call 407-WDW-LABOR (take off the 'R') and have it fixed. Don't fret, a simple oversite. When you're a scheduler that is responsible for over 2,000 Cast Members (by-yourself), it happens. We're all human:D As far as your experience with leaders, I'm very sorry to hear. I HIGHLY recommend making yourself known to leaders. Many leaders have TOO much on their plates, and it'd difficult to get to know all of their cast members. This is why as part of the Basics Pilot, you'll find areas with A LOT more leaders than there used to be.

Either way, I hope you enjoyed your program and dug deep to take away a lot. A CP or ICP is exactly what you make of it. I hope you were able to take DU courses like The Journey or Put A Smile In Your Voice, as these are AMAZING programs that teach you so much more than you could take away from most college courses. I personally learned more in The Journey than I did in most of my college experience combined. Good luck!

Yup...I've seen CP's scheduled to work for a whole week after their program ended. Disney schedulers suck at their jobs, I've had more arguments with them then I did any other co-worker.
I would certainly not recommend arguing with them. No one wins. If you have a scheduling issue that is in THEIR particular job description, and they're doing something improper or inappropriate, or against union laws and bi-laws, don't take it out on them, but rather take it up with their leader. That's the best way to make progress rather than having a heated debate with someone that obviously does not want to or can not help you.

Well, I emailed my old manager from the Parking lot and he helped alot, he was so great then and now that he has moved to MK Events hes still awesome! I sent a "General Question" to scheduling and they got it fixed, stress gone!

Thank you all for your kind words and help, this program I know is meant to be great and memorable and this one will be. Im sure I can forget the negatives and remember the pluses. I have met some really awesome cast members for all over the U.S and some ICP's. Thanks to FaceBook we'll be keeping in touch.

Have a magical day everyone. By the way come visit me. I'll be in Toontown on Friday, Saturday and Monday. My name says Jonathan from Quinnsigamon CC.
