Hi everyone,

I thinking about staying at Saratoga Springs this year and was wondering if anyone had stayed there yet. If so did you like as compered to other resorts? How was the bus service etc. Any help would be great.

I'd stay away from it, even if you can get a room.

There are only 70 rooms at the current time. One building is opening per month for the next six months.

There is LOTS of construction still going on. I'd much rather stay at some place that isn't under construction.

I gotta agree with TLB. I don't understand why they did what they did, but the resort it somewhat of a mess. They opened it up so prematurely. I would pick a different resort for now, and then on your next trip you can try Saratoga Springs.

One Word - Don't. That place is so bad. When I visited Saratoga Springs, I was so let down. It's boring, messy, and you'll have the sound of hammers and all that while they are working on the other buildings...

Just because they had the lobby built does not mean they needed to open the resort. You cannot even get a burger or chicken there. Just sandwiches.

Stay at Pop Century, which is prob. cheaper, and it much more fun and a nicer place to be. Maybe in a few years time, it will be nice, but for now, that place is a disaster.

Actually, it appears that only 4 buildings will open by the end of the year, although I've heard from people that work there, it's 70 rooms per month (so there may be more than 70 per building).

8 of the buildings aren't even going to be open until 2005.

So while Disney covers up refurbs on existing attractions as well as new additions, I take it this project is fully visible to the paying public?

Am I missing something here? What gives? Are the value resorts that booked that they need the space?

I'll be there in July. It doesn't look like it'll be that great of an experience. Hopefully our rooms will be complete. :lookaroun At least the busses shouldn't be crowded and they'll have plenty of E-Night tickets.

Nope, it has nothing to do with the space. It's just another DVC resort.

I have no idea why they decided to do it this way. Maybe part of it has to do with the big DVC homecoming event (don't know the details) that is happening the rest of the week.

At least half of the resort should have been opened at one time.

I don't have a scanner or I would scan in the layout that was given to me at the Open Mouse event.

I didn't walk down to the actual room that was being shown either, but it appears that it's quite a walk, across one of the bodies of water.

It looks like the buildings that are opening are close to the river leading to DTD. Once those buildings are completely ready (if not already), the construction will move to a bit farther away (so it won't be as bad for construction noise), but I believe it will still be noticable.
