Saratoga Springs Pools

During our stay at the Saratoga Springs Resort, my wife and I went swimming in their main pool. I noticed something, or rather I didn't notice something while I was swimming.:lookaroun No chlorine smell.:sohappy: I dont know if I am allergic to the chlorine in pools, but I usually get very red watery eyes and a runny nose and sneeze alot while I swim in most pools. Including other Disney resort pools I have been in. Has anyone else noticed this or know if Saratoga Springs uses some sort of other chemicals to keep their pools clean? I wish all other Disney resorts would do the same with their pools.

I've heard that they are more conscientious about the environment and using environmentally friendly methods of cleaning pools. These methods have been around for a long time, actually, but most people feel that if you can't smell it, it isn't working.

I stayed at Saratoga last January, and I too noticed the lack of chlorine in the pool... there is a newer chemical technique being used in pools which is safer on the environment/body/clothes... it's basically a Salt Water pool. It's seems when the the non-iodized salt, is added through a special filter, it processes it's own chlorine.... allright, I wasn't watching the news story in such great detail, but that's the gist of it.

The salt isn't in a high concentration, and neither is the cholorine that it produces, so you can open your eyes underwater, (unlike the ocean), and it won't bleach out your clothes or hair (like a chlorine pool). It has very little smell as well.

I do not know if this is the technique they use at Saratoga Springs, but it could be.
