Serous Fires has hit the Southland today, the Anaheim area is lucky that we have no current fires, but we are under a Red Flag warning, and could be affected at any time.

The High winds are predicted for the rest of the week, calming down for the weekend, but coming back next week.

So what is the current impact?

The Fireworks won't happen, and maybe also the snow effect.

World of Color also might be cancelled/modified.

Parades might get modified for safety reasons.

Some outdoor rides might have to be shut down during higher winds.

While Disney does take good care of its trees, you still might have falling branches, which could close walkways.

For those with breathing issues, no current smoke, but that can change.

So come and have a good time, dress appropriately, and be understanding.

And to those in the fire areas, our prayers and best wishes that you remain safe.

The view from the fire road behind my building (approx 60 miles north of DL). No big deal. Power flickering. Go home wind.

It's a cold Santa Ana here in Villa Park today. Gusts up around 25mph, crystal blue skies, but it's barely in the 60's so with the wind it feels like the 40's outside. Brrr!

Wednesday morning... The popular Tourist attraction, the Getty Center is threatened by the new Skirball Fire.

Six Flags Magic Mountain was threatened yesterday.

The 405 freeway at the Sepulveda Pass (north of the LAX airport) is also closed.

Winds are still very strong, but it is expected that both Disneyland, Universal Studios and Knott's will open later this morning.

Edited to add - Once again to all affected by the fires, our prayers and thoughts. The Thomas Fire has affected over 27,000 homes.

OK, watching the morning local news, and many schools are closing today, including some in LA Unified and Santa Monica. They might end up at Disneyland to get away from the smoke, as all AP's are not blocked out today.

Magic Mountain has a huge amount of brush behind it. There are also new houses less than quarter mile from MM on each side. Santa Clarita is a lot like Mission Viejo or Lake Forest in houses.

I use to live on Casiano Road where the Bel-Air fire is going on now. Those are multi-million dollar houses. I hope the Getty Center and the Skirball Cultural Center are ok.

It's not a good day to go to Magic Mountain or even be on the 405 in West LA.

Good Thursday Morning.

There is a faint smoke smell in Anaheim in the air. Noticed it first last night, a bit stronger just now when I stepped outside.

Winds have died down, but still could gust stronger at any time.

Still a lot of fire to put out in the Southland, but no major new fires.

Many schools, colleges and university will have the day off.

The parks will open and try to offer everything today, but as always, might have to make adjustments.

So come visit, be prepared, especially those with breathing problems.

And those with major fire impacts, our thoughts and prayers are with you.

The local RyeFire is pretty much out.
I can still see smoke beyond Magic Mountain from the fires in Ojai/Ventura County.
Sky has mostly cleared looking south.

I had to laugh yesterday when I checked the weather app and it simply said: "smoke".

Windy and clear here in Villa Park, much warmer today at 80 degrees. Severe clear to the west from my den window, to Disneyland and on to Santa Catalina.

But I have an elderly relative up in Montecito just south of Santa Barbara and she says it's socked in with very thick smoke there from the Ventura fire.

The winds here in Anaheim have once again picked up and are strong and sustaining.

At least the smoke smell has disappeared for now.

So looks like another night without fireworks.

For those planning a trip, in a press conference that just ended regarding the fires.

Expect at least 10 more days of high winds and higher than normal temperatures, and no rain in the forecast for three weeks.

That said, please still come, just understand if things aren't running at 100%.

Well tonight, Friday, December 15th, the Disneyland Fireworks went off as scheduled.

But High Winds are still predicted for the next week, so it still is a day to day decision.
