Sanibel Island

My wife and I are going to take a day out of our Disney trip in April/May 2015 and head to the west coast for some beach time/shelling. We heard Sanibel Island is a good place.

Any thoughts/suggestions?

We stayed at the Pink Shell Resort before and loved it. I think it's close to the area.

Sorry I did not mean to imply we were going to be staying there. Looking for on a nice beach to relax and do some shelling.

Sanibel is fantastic, It's really worth spending more than a day there.
