San Angel Mania?

Ok, I'm confused!! I thought there were only two restaurants in Mexico with "San Angel" in the name, but now I realize there are three? I have an ADR for San Angel Inn, but I thought this was the only TS restaurant in Mexico (I ate at the Inn in 2000). So which is better for lunch, San Angel Inn or La Hacienda de San Angel?

And going one step further, whichever of the two you prefer for lunch, would you choose it over Teppan Edo? Or not?

(Probably our kids would prefer San Angel Inn over Hacienda, because it looks cool. But I'm interested in peoples' preferences for the menus.) Of course, I don't think Hacienda is still available and the Inn still is, which probably means Hacienda is better...

San Angel is table service for lunch and dinner, Hacienda is table service only for dinner and is counter service at lunch. I dont know how San Angel rates lately its always had very mixed reviews. I love the atmosphere but as of recent they have crammed in way too many tables on top of each other, its getting ridiculous. I myself never cared for the food but I know many do. Last time we went we never got waited on, so we got up and left. Im sure it was just a fluke but that was the first time that ever happened to us on Disney property.

Clarification: La Hacienda does not serve lunch. You can take your lunch from La Cantina de San Angel (outdoor quick serve) and sit at a table inside La Hacienda if you wish.

San Angel Inn is a must do for me. I prefer the menu over the Hacienda and the dining room is my favorite on property. However, for a quick-serve lunch the Cantina's new-ish menu is a big improvement over the previous one, and as mentioned you can take your food inside and eat inside La Hacienda if you'd like to check out the dining room (which IS pretty nice) without booking a meal there.

I thought the dining room was pretty nice too. San Angel Inn is one of the first things I remember hearing about Epcot - how it feels like you're outdoors. And we have very little decent Mexican food nearby. I think we'll stick with it. DS14 loves Mexican food!

Barbara Eden+? Bring it!!
I've always enjoyed San Angel Inn. I think opinions vary based on expectations. What is 'mexican food'? Tex-Mex within Texas varies a great deal based on the region. What you find in the valley is different from what is served in El Paso. Go to Southern California and the difference can be even more dramatic, and none of this even accounts for the food from the interior of Mexico itself.

We had lunch there in 2011 and my food was great. Chicken enchiladas with a verdes sauce. The chicken was perfectly cooked, moist, tender, good flavor. The sauce was nice as well. The food was familiar, well prepared, and I enjoyed it for those reasons.

This year we didn't make an ADR there, because we wanted to try some options that are new or where we haven't dined in several years.

Tell you my opinion of Teppan Edo. Pick a random Japanese steakhouse, anywhere in the U.S. Happen to be in Des Moines, IA? Jackson, MS? Monroe, LA? Go to one of their Japanese Steakhouses. Enjoy dinner there and you will have an idea how "Magical" Teppan Edo is.......
